That admin is ready to go full steam ahead on developing a top notch football program. They just need an architect like Davis who would embrace and recognize the power he would receive. Miami would try and keep their collective thumbs on him.

Maryland should have done a lot more under Edsall. How was their recruiting under him? Seems to me that area is a gold mine for players.

In 2013 the state of Maryland had 25 players in the NFL. Miami Norland and St Thomas Aquinas had 12!!!! Two South Florida schools had half the number of NFL players as the whole state of MD! That is without PD, Duke and Flowers from THE U this year. Yeah, recruiting prospects would be a toss up for Butch to consider. Please.

What I take from this is that Golden is all but out the door, which is a clear step in the right direction and alone worth celebrating. Great news on Butch also. I still don't trust the decision making of the BOT when it comes to athletics or specifically our football program, but we'll see.

I'm not going to let myself get to worked up. Most likely Butch's agent spreading rumors to increase his contract for Maryland. Miami's admin will make another sh@tty hire.

That could be happening, but I don't know Butch's agent or anyone who does. This is from his Butch's interactions with the people who make or help make decisions about the program. And, after this post was written, others have communicated that they've also heard about specific talks between Butch's side and some of our "leaders."

A few posters have come on here, predictably, to trivialize it. That's fine. This is a significant break from what I heard in the past, so I think it's meaningful. Some people (myself included) didn't even expect Butch to be an actual option for us.

Butch only wants to be at UM. for all the people who say he can't coach. he got cleveland to the playoffs. lol he wants this so bad. he knows he had a dynasty on his hands and regretted it the 2nd he left. u can't blame a coach for trying the NFL. all college coaches want to try nfl or nba. also, donna wanted alvarez so he was getting jerked around.

Butch could be named coach-in-waiting, and have him immediately take over recruiting. For the ncaa, he'd have to be an official asst coach (they'd fire one). Fraulden would ride out the season, lowering his buyout.

Butch could start lining up his staff, and hit the ground running on December 1.

Aside from the countless D1 players flooding the country out of Delaware, I assume you mean Virgina which UVA minds for its numerous NCs. There is PA which I suppose you might mean. Certainly USED to be a hotbed of talent but Showers U still get most of that. Maybe you mean NJ. Do you think Butch could break into Al stronghold there? Get serious will you. Florida has provided talent for 11 NCs for Miami, the criminoles and the swamp creatures. Not to mention providing significant parts of numerous others. Butch might go for the $$$, and I would not blame him, but it would be despite the arid recruiting REGION. Stick with the cash angle; it is the only one that works for you.

Butch is not coaching and has had no offers on the table other than an adviser for the Bucs under Schiano. The North Carolina trouble is still keeping schools away, including Miami. Has enough time passed to overcome the stigma? I hope so. If we lose tomorrow the BOT needs to grow a pair and make the decision FOR Blake. While the remainder of the year will be a ****show with an assistant head coaching, it will be worth it IF we can get a commitment from Butch ASAP. Otherwise, it makes no sense to fire Coach Golden until the end of the year.
