Kliff Kingsbury? The HEAD COACH at Texas Tech, his alma mater? I am sure that he is dying to give that job up to be the OC at Miami. WTF...

I think he meant that Klingsbury has had success as a young coach so Ken Dorsey might get a shot.

I'm not gonna let myself get excited till it happens. Stuff like this, don't happen at the U, nowadays. All I know is my liver can't survive another season of Albortion.

Butch could be named coach-in-waiting, and have him immediately take over recruiting. For the ncaa, he'd have to be an official asst coach (they'd fire one). Fraulden would ride out the season, lowering his buyout.

Butch could start lining up his staff, and hit the ground running on December 1.

$ 2.5 million can ease the pain. Can't really blame that decision. The problem is the BOT's lack of pride.

If FHEG is fired mid-season and Butch hired, it will be the single most epic event in message board history - and it will be 100% attributable to the banners and the WEZ

Gonna be hard to beat the Gruden rumours and reactions freakout that was going on, they were out of control. Not sure it would be euphoric, but it'll certainly be a collective sigh of relief.

the mission of the banner campaign is to get FHEG out ASAP. Bringing back Butch would be icing on the cake

I'm not going to let myself get to worked up. Most likely Butch's agent spreading rumors to increase his contract for Maryland. Miami's admin will make another sh@tty hire.

That could be happening, but I don't know Butch's agent or anyone who does. This is from his Butch's interactions with the people who make or help make decisions about the program. And, after this post was written, others have communicated that they've also heard about specific talks between Butch's side and some of our "leaders."

A few posters have come on here, predictably, to trivialize it. That's fine. This is a significant break from what I heard in the past, so I think it's meaningful. Some people (myself included) didn't even expect Butch to be an actual option for us.
 
Lu, I know you can't say too much without giving up sources and the like, but can you give a bit more context, as in whether Butch was just one name in a laundry list of possible candidates or more like the primary target?

No worries if what you've provided is all you're comfortable sharing. It's much appreciated regardless.

Lu, I don't doubt what your saying at all. I really hope this happens. We've been so bad for so long it's hard to get excited because we've been let down so many times over the last 10+ years. I just have no confidence in this admin to do what is necessary to make this program great again. They don't realize what put this school on the map and in the public eye to begin with. Having a great football program is financial beneficial to all parties including the educational branch. We need something to go our way for a change.
 
Butch isnt going to run to MD just because they are firing edsall.... being he pretty much knows the miami job is coming open and is being begged for by the "people". He can sit back and have his pick right now of whatever he wants. My gut tells me he feels he has unfinished business here. He has won everything there is to win as an asst coach but never as the HNIC. He sees what is wrong and thinks he can bring things to where he had them.
