There is plenty talent on this roster...Golden just can't maximize it and convert it to W's

If the BOT brings Butch back, they will not even consider firing him if things go bad. They will tell us we got what we wanted so just shut up. They will fly their own banners "You asked for him!" Me, I am good with that. Butch is the only choice at this point. They blew their options by waiting this long.

Butch is polarizing but he has important supporters. It will be interesting to see who wins out.

If the rumor is correct that Blake went to meet with Fain, if Fain does nothing but agree that Golden is the most polarizing critter in UM history, and for Fain to not actively stop the hiring of Butch Davis - then I'd say it's a done deal.

Golden is leaving - zero doubt.

Other coaches will be leaving this year - maybe even Spurrier - and there's going to be a number of schools larger and with more money than UM - all in the market for a coach.

The sooner we pull the trigger, the smoother the transition - the better recruiting will be - and the faster the negativity the school receives for keeping Golden is negated.

Butch is money. He'll make the school a **** of a lot more money than his salary - therefore - Butch is not a cost. Guaranteed.

Most others are either very expensive - or unproven - at UM - in this unique environment.

One Butch is already familiar with.

Butch would get all 5 years of his contract to win the ACC and make at least the playoffs. That would put him close 70 and retirement zone and the next coach can move in.

If Schiano doesn't come with Butch, who would he bring in as DC? This Defense needs a Ray Lewis transfusion in the worst way.

Butch could retain Kehoe, Brown, Beard and Scott and Ice Harris. DL - Kevn Patrick, Brown to DB coach, Dorsey as OC and QB coach, no idea on potential DC and LB coach.

Jim Leavitt should be the first and only coach you call. Making 500k at Colorado, same as we are paying fatty. He is Florida born and bred, tireless worker, tireless recruiter. Pony up and this staff is on par with any other on gameday and in living rooms.
