Back in August if I told you Al Golden would be fired..

and replaced by Mark Richt (coach of the preseason #9 Georgia Bulldogs), what would your reaction have been?



think back 4 months and be completely honest

Throw in the possibility of going 9 and 4, golden gone and with getting richt to be the next coach? Man oh man, I did not see richt coming here before the season

this was so random and such a steal

Georgia fanbase and much of the organization did not want to let this guy go. It was a few big $$ people and the AD as reported by that georgia poster. The fact that this job was free, all other coaching vacancies were being filled and all of a sudden he gets questionably let go and falls right into our (his alma maters) lap is beyond crazy to me.

I'm a fan of all major sports and i've never been more excited for a coaching hire one of the teams i follow

exactly. I hope we all realize the depressed state we were in just 4 months ago. we didn't even think Blake James would have the cojones to fire Golden at all, much less in the middle of the season. this hire has revitalized the entire program and injected an infusion of optimism and life into a ho-hum fanbase. we are extremely, extremely lucky and fortunate.
 
I would be thrilled. Perspective matters. People will argue the pros/cons of all the candidates. But the reality is Scott/Golden got us 8 wins with a shot at 9. Is there any question Richt will makes us a perennial 10 win team?
 
Same as I feel now, meh.

I've wanted a savage here for a long time and I still haven't gotten one.
 
At the start of the year we weren't even sure they'd ever get rid of Golden (but, even I didn't think we'd lose 58-0 to anyone ever). Would have never believed they'd be able to replace him with Richt.

This team should be ten wins this year even with a young team, terrible staff and horrendous o line. We should have beat cincy and fsu.


I could see this team going undefeated next year in the season with any progression of o line play with richt calling the plays and a real dc.

Richt is definitely going to be hungry with way he was let go after everything he has done for Georgia. Georgia was irrelevant for the 20 years before richt came there

10 wins are not the goal. That is nothing. A non-accomplishment. This is why we have a fan base full of potatoes. When were 10 wins ever the goal?
 
I would have been thrilled if they had fired Golden and brought Randy back....and Randy was horrible.

Just the thought of Golden gone was enough, let alone replaced by someone competent
