Away Game Tickets

My Clemson seats are in the upper deck, around the 30-yard line, maybe 10 rows from the back.

The face value we’re being charged for these away games is absurd. Clemson was $140 per ticket, including the ridiculous Ticketmaster fee. Even without the fees, the face value was around $130. The tickets we actually received are worth $100 or less. At this point, I’m probably never buying regular-season away-game tickets directly from the school again unless it’s FSU or Notre Dame. Just show up and take my chances.

And speaking of Notre Dame, it looks like the school has decided to make up its own rules when it comes to allocation and just partially allocate people. Which is especially funny because they send emails every three days telling you to donate more to increase your chances of getting tickets.

Isn’t the entire point of having Hurricane Club tiers that people are supposed to be treated differently based on how much they donate? What exactly is the benefit of being a Category 4 member and donating $3,000 if the school can turn around and prorate your allocation to give tickets to Category 2 ($750) or Category 3 ($1,500) members?

If the school isn’t actually going down the list based on the established priority structure, then there is basically zero incentive to give more money. They’ve effectively taken away the only thing they’re selling in exchange for those higher donations: access.

I understand that this is the ugly money side of college sports, but that’s the world we’re operating in. If the school is going to structure the Hurricane Club around donation tiers and then ignore those tiers when it comes time to allocate the tickets, what exactly is the point of the system? What am I missing? Just make a lottery at that point, you defrauded the donors.

Good luck everyone selling your tickets if you’re not going to the game at Clemson anymore because with Clemson sucking they still have plenty of tickets available and the seats that most of us got are so terrible. If you’re not going and not giving them to a friend, I would suggest unless you got a lucky allocation that’s not up in the top corner, but even if a little bit better off, undercutting the market now than following it down later, especially if Clemson loses Friday night
 
Also, here is a good guide if we get to the playoffs again in terms of what to buy, and what not to buy depend, depending upon whether you’re going or not, of course.

Of course, if Miami gets a home game in the first round, get them through the school and then have added the demand will be crazy if Miami doesn’t get a buy and doesn’t get a home game by through the school probably because the allocation from the other school that gives them to us will be small. Just look at Texas A&M.

You probably do not want to buy the quarterfinals or semifinals through the university because you probably do better waiting it out and buying in the open market for StubHub most of those games so far in the history of the 12 team playoff have had seat crash at the end

The national championship though definitely get them from the school. It may never be as crazy as it was this past year, but you just need to get in the door because it’s becoming Super Bowl light.

I agree, you have it spot on. Vegas makes it a SB type of event, regardless who is playing.
 
I’m cat 3 and I got put in TDM row BB. LOL @ $140 a pop for nosebleeds.
But I made out like a bandit for ND. Got 4 tix there and secondary mkt starts at $900

I'm CAT 4 and got 4. Should have just done CAT 3 lol if we get the same tickets. I'm happy for you but also frustrated how incompetent the admin staff can be.

The old site use to list your “priority ranking” - but the new site does not. They need to bring that back.

I'm CAT 4 and I'm in TDN. If that is where Clemson puts its visitors, then it is what it is. I like to sit high and watch plays develop. That is where I sat in 2020. Now ask all the CAT 3 and below how many ND tickets they got? If Miami makes the CFP and you want your full allotment and priority seating, then that is going to be a tough lift. I was CAT 3 last year and ended up in the second to last row at A&M. Lucky to get into the stadium. ****, basketball team is going deep, and I'd like priority seating for the Final Four this year...haha
 
I cussed them out for ******** up my season tickets and cut my donation in half and got tickets in T at $80 per seat.

Yeah, my dad and I got stuck in the top corner in TDT, 5 rows from the top.
