The first availability report of the 2026-27 college football season has arrived for the Miami Hurricanes game against the Stanford Cardinal.

Let's go ahead and get this out of the way for those who are unfamiliar with how this works: ACC schools are required to share an availability report the week of kickoff to provide transparency on player status. Players are listed as:

• Out (0% chance to play)
• Doubtful (25%)
• Questionable (50%)
• Probable (75%)

The Hurricanes currently have two players listed as out, meaning they will be unavailable against the Cardinal on Friday night. Tight end Luka Gilbert will miss the entire season after injuring himself during the summer, while the big news regarding cornerback Ja'Boree Antoine broke recently. There were rumors swirling sustaining that he was injured in camp.

On the other hand, if you haven't already noticed, Stanford will have a handful of players out. The offensive line and the defensive back groups were hit the hardest, combining for a total of eight unavailable players during Friday's ACC clash.

How so? We've seen in the playoffs how important it is to have less breaks and more playing experience compared to teams who had a bye and far bigger breaks.

The notion that having a headstart into the season and it being beneficial for you is well documented and proven to be correct. I'm not saying we're beating them clearly, I'm saying that the beginning of the game leading into the first half will be much more difficult than we expect.

It will be, because that’s what we do. But that’s silly. If we win 41-7, we set the building on fire? Come on. We’re favored by 24. It’s week 1. I’m not here for Week 1. I’m here for December and January. Just go out there, play reasonably clean, get better, hit someone in a different colored jersey for a change, and most importantly, don’t get hurt.

Covering a 24 point road spread would be more than fine. We got a new QB, essentially an entirely new OL. Go handle some business, and stay healthy. I’m not gonna be remotely upset if we beat them by 28 points, yeah it’s Stanford but we’re not playing FAM tomorrow. Execute, get better, stay healthy, and let’s get outta town.

But this Stanford team blows and is missing genuinely important guys. We should absolutely roll them and if it’s 14-7 mid 3rd quarter I think it’ll be fine to be frustrated. Hawaii had dudes running WIDE open all over the place.

I just think if this game is within less than* 4-5 scores it’s because we came out on the bs we saw during the middle stretch of the season last year, and that’s what would **** me off more than the score differential. If we Let It Rip, I just don’t see a world where it’s remotely close.

Hawaii genuinely could have and arguably should have won that game last week. Idk where this idea that Stanford looked noticeably improved from last year is coming from tbh. They looked like ****.

Does this list disqualify those on it NOT to play?
I guess what I mean is Stanford can post this list, but still play the players on the list. IMO it's them just playing with us and most if not all those players will play.
