Off-Topic Audi v BMW - need opinions

Ok so I’m really struggling between an X3 and a Q5. Anyone have direct experience or thoughts they can share? Haven’t driven either yet but more looking for feedback on quality, any problems, etc.
Don't buy a BMW. I've owned four 7 series over the last 20 years and I will not buy another one. I love the car, but it's high maintenance and there's always something going on. The car will hit its max repair just as soon as the warranty runs out.

This is pretty much the case for all their models.

They design their vehicles such that even a $5 part requires taking a substantial number of components off to get to it. They specialize in Rube Goldberg design. I've had enough.

I want to buy an Audi Q5, but I haven't found a good one in my town. I found one in another country and need some help with shipping it. If anyone knows a reliable company that can assist with the shipping process, I’d really appreciate your recommendations.

Have you thought about checking out local dealerships or sites that import cars? You might score a better deal or find something that fits your vibe.

I saw this article explaining why BMWs are cheaper in the US than elsewhere. Maybe consider grabbing a BMW instead of that Audi Q5. You could find a solid shipping company to help out too, check out here more info https://www.a1autotransport.com/why-is-bmw-cheaper-in-the-us/

BMW established their reputation with the 1960's versions of the 2002 model ... 2 door coupe with a 4 speed transmission ... that was fun to drive and VERY reliable and easy to work on. Had one and loved it ... then got a new 325 in '89 ... and the reliability was no where near the 2002. The BMW is a high maintenance car. I ended up going to Toyota for reliable daily driver ... and for a replica 289 FIA Shelby Cobra roadster with a V8 and 5 speed Tremec transmission ... for fun.

Good luck with the process.

I know there is the option by the German manufacturers to purchase the car over there and you have to fly over there and can use it as your rental car and then they ship it, I believe as a used car for tax purposes but not sure. I’ve never done it, just heard about it.

I own a Q5. Have had it since 2018. Love it. Only 55k miles in it.

Two things I don’t like:

1) bump on the floor that divides the two back seats

2) Maintenance - German luxury cars are expensive to maintain.

Best of luck.
