Morris learned his offense from Malzahn when both were high school coaches in early 2000s, Think Morris took over for Briles in texas actually when Briles broke thru to college ranks. Malzahn was able to break thru later at Arky when he attached himself to some of his super talented players being nationally recruited. Houston Nutt wasnt comfortable with all he was doing but that run game was a monster that year, think they had 3 NFL backs.

I have always wondered if Gus is holding auburn back with his offense. They recruit really well and have a great defense. I wonder if they just went to a normal spread system, like what morris would run, and Gus became a CEO type would they be better off

It is amazing that Morris would consider the Auburn job when Malzahn clearly has it in his DNA to call his own plays.

Luckily for us we’re gonna make sure our entire recruiting class that will finish ranked around 20th remains in tact and we’ll scrape the bottom of the coaching barrel when that is secured. Analytics show this is the best course of action

He would have been a huge upgrade over Enos, but as I said at the time, there's no way Miami's HC or AD understand that.
