How does overseeing by 10x the largest capital expansion of football facilities qualify as "handcuffing" the AD? She got the BUC built, the new A-Rod park, Cobb, Schwartz Center, Greentree, and more. If you want to cover your ears and ignore all of it, fine, but you want a top coach? No one real is coming here, ever, without those improvements in place. Whether you think AG is the right coach now or not is your right, but if you don't think he did an exceptional job of seeing us through a period where the press and opposing recruiters were telling the world we were going to get the death penalty then I don't know what else to say. Lost cause.

If you think she has "handcuffed" the AD, I ask you to imagine where we would be right now with any of our previous presidents who didn't do **** compared to her. Tad Foote? Floated the idea of killing the program... just like basketball.

Context is everything. She was President during a time of the rise of the SEC and publicly funded state schools raising hundreds of millions of dollars... a time when facilities expansion in CFB exploded, and she did it without the support of a decent fan base who would rather ***** on the internet with a fake screen name then write a check with their real name on it. Unlike places like UF where fans kick in $2k for the right to MAYBE get the chance to buy season tickets, here we fly banners to fire every coach we have, even the ones that bring us National Championships. - yeah, the internet brigade flied a "from champs to chumps" banner to try to run off Butch. The same ******** who are now saying how badly they want him to be our coach. SMH. ****, the angel she found to actually kick in $ for football, the Schwartz Family, HAVE ******* NOTHING TO DO WITH MIAMI! She had to tap her own outside network to make that happen.

I thank her for her commitment to supporting UM athletics, especially football. Go ask the players what they think of her.

By the way OP, if all you care about is football, and you don't want to hear anything about academics, then don't ever bring up anything involving UM outside of the football program. That means Shalala. If you can't handle the fact that her job successes aren't judged solely by the football program's success, then don't comment on her or the administration because you've already admitted it's not your place.

Now that's out of the way, I appreciate the academic and research strides UM has made under Shalala and her hard work in raising TONS of donations..to include, way too late IMO, the recent football and athletic facility upgrades.

That said, she has not had her finger on the pulse of the football program outside of cheer leading, some fund raising and communication with recruits and their families on OVs..etc. The coaching hires really should not have even involved her as much as I fear they have.

The time is right (overdue) for her to step down and hopefully allow a more business approach to getting UM back on the field.

this is a football site, but it doesn't stop you retards from jerking each other off about how the university's academics are killing football. the only reason people defend shalala and the academics is because they're constantly brought up by people who hate the academic side of the university.

The B.U.C. is scarred with empty cement corners because she cowered to the City of Coral Gables setting a terrible precedent.

She instituted higher admissions standards that crippled recruiting and bolstered negative recruiting.

She sent a spam email to the entire alumni base accepting a fully qualified athlete that made us a laughing stock and furthered the negative recruiting fodder.

She bungled the Shapiro issue by picking a fight with the NCAA who knew they had nothing and delayed proceedings for two years out of spite.
