ATTENTION BoT MEMBERS READ THIS: The AD should take the reigns

I have on good authority that multiple trustees read this blog daily and are inclined to take advice on how to manage a large university athletic program from some random poster who has never been involved in athletic or university administration in any capacity.

You're the real hero.

You're the real hero.

That ain’t the point.

This BOT couldn't locate a competent HC if you painted him neon green and turned out all the lights.

I'd say that based on the last four hires - the BOT, the Administration, and the AD - don't know any more about football than tapeworms.

A 50% bad hire rate - still sucks.

But FOUR in a ROW?

That's called INTENTIONAL.

They had a chance to hire a real coach. He’s eight miles away from campus, and of course, they blew it. Four times in a row. Coker, Shannon, Golden, Preacher. What a crew!

You’re just figuring THAT out. They want a team that loses to Duke and UVA at the “Harvard of the South”! (53rd and dropping. Incompetence at its best.)

Don’t need experience running a university admin to know when a football program is in free fall.

Serious question. Did you think Richt was an awful hire when we were 10-0 last year?

The administration was WAY behind the curve opening up the purse, but finally did. Considering our options at the time, Richt looked like a good hire. At least he made the right hire(s) on D. Now it doesn't look that way, but revisionist history won't change it.

They were intentionally cheap. That doesn't mean they intentionally made bad hires. No one on earth is going to pay someone and hope they fail.

This isn't Major League, Jobu.

Compare us to USC post-Carroll and it looks eerily similar. Except they have quite a bit more money than Miami.

Serious Answer: Yes.

We had some wins only by spectacular play of some great players who managed to win in spite of the coaching staff. It's been that way since he's been here.

Why would Georgia - fire a "winning" coach? Because they finally recognized that he was NOT even taking advantage of what Georgia provided him, and was severely underperforming. Think maybe that should have been a "Heads Up!" moment?

Know why Stoops was nicknamed "Big Game Bob?" Patterns. Tendencies. Repetitively choking in big games. It was like automatic.

I don't know why Richt never picked up the nickname "Lukewarm Richt." He never had a brilliant performance. Never. He's had a pattern of being well spoken, but half-assed at game time.

When I say the "intentionally" made bad hires - I'm saying the UM admin and AD's only did a half-assed job in coach searching - yes, took the cheap way out - but they go for image - not winning.

They go for "safe." Not innovation. They do for low energy - not hungry but high energy. Truth is - they don't know a good coach when they see one - they just want to play it safe - and to **** with winning.

We made fun of Florida and FSU. Well, I get the feeling they're going to be making fun of us for the next couple years - at least.

Maybe. I think you're underestimating the big aspect that at Miami, the HC needs to be a very effective figurehead with the boosters, moreso than a state school.

Miami is not a "win at all costs" university. The 90's left a bad enough scar on our rep and Shapiro was worse. The administration cares more about being a school than a football team. Can't say that for many to most of the big programs.

I don't care who reads this or who likes what I post. My hope is they'll take the advice. It's the same advice given not just by me, but the entire college football world. IF the University of Miami BoT and Athletic Department embarrasses the community again like this... the revenue implosion will be legendary. Pay attention Epstein.

The whole point is to get ahead of it, because people genuinely want Richt to succeed. However, if they would rather be embarrassed like they did us then so be it. Take the advice. Take control of the program and grow the fck up already. If you're selfish coach, leave. If you are a selfish player with a burgeoning career in ****, GTFO. If you're soft and don't want to win, fcking leave.

Message is simple get control of this program or it will be us embarrassing you soon. Bank on it.
