Attendance

In the late 70's we considered 22,000 a great crowd, 14k to 18k was the norm. Small school, an alumni base in which many live elsewhere, (outside of Florida) and a city in which many people to not identify with college football and prefer other entertainment, (assuming they can afford it).
I remember having four season tickets for a total cost of $80., and as I stated only 15K plus or minus were in the stands. Once we started winning attendance changed. Lets address this issue when we get to 6-0. However, if we are 3-3, do not expect anything to change.

It’s a blessing we had the weather delay because it makes the attendance have a legitimate excuse.

With no weather delay the attendance was still going to be putrid and that’s a bad look for recruits.

Thank Mother Nature today!

They need to sell out only the lower level like USF does in Tampa or something. The attendance on TV looked to be 500 people. I was watching with UF alumni. The gators were 80% full at halftime and after the mass exodus still had 30X more fans in the stands. Something needs to happen to get butts in the seats or at least fool people better. Top 10 freaking team….. ridiculous

Ask those Gator alums if they would rather have filled seats or wins.

Walk away.

I used game time and there were plenty of tickets going for 1-8 dollars in the upper bowl, along the side lines and not just the corners. The lowest I seen in the lower started at $11. The fees and parking pass suck but thats to be expected.
Were you looking during the rain delay or like five minutes before kickoff? When I was looking same day last week. There was nothing for $1-8 anywhere and the upper corners were in the 15-20 range.

Well good for the gators…who cares

The attendance for the Bethune Cookman game last year was 39,800 yet we ended up with the number 5 class. 🤷‍♂️

I do agree small crowds look bad but its always been this way.

I can’t really comment about attendance because I live in Pennsylvania and only make it to 1-2 games a year (1 home/1 road). And that’s starting to shrink too since the kids are in HS and have their own games on Fridays and Saturdays. That said even during our championship years I remember catching games on TV where there were a ton of open seats in the lower level at the OB. As long as it sells out for big games ZFG.

I bought a 3$ ticket like 45min before kickoff.

Also, to the OP, don't try and speak from your couch. Go to the game, and you'll see that the upper bowl is just better seating sometimes due to the weather. I stayed dried the whole game while a lot of the lower bowl had to deal with the rain. Someone said the same thing on FB, and yeah, it sounds good on paper, but then you're ******** over people that actually enjoys the upper bowl benefits

What seats were you in last night?

It’s a shame those 30k fans couldn’t WILL them to victory……
It was Ball State, after a 2.5hr delay, and still raining, in Miami.

When they built that new soccer stadium maybe Miami should play games like this one there. Huge games that we know will sell out can be at the rock.

It monsooned for two hours and we obliterated them.

Shut up Karen

I sat there until the end enjoying it all

Why do we keep having these discussions about low attendance? It’s just the way it is. Always has been, and always will be. Miami is not a sports town, it’s a big event town, with the exception of the Phins. No other team packs the stands consistently.

And yes, they should just sell lower now for lessor games.
