Obviously have seen this topic pop up on this board and elsewhere. A few people have tried to clear the record felt it should have its own thread.
I was in the middle of the large mass of people involved in this incident and just giving my take.
First, we did not "attack" the band. I did not see exactly what happened to the band leader specifically, but Miami fans in general were not attacking the band. The UF band were not exactly being polite either. This was going on right in front of the stadium, maybe 100 yards at most from the main exit. The UF band began walking through the mass of thousands of people which was not in a barricaded area (no ropes or cones separating), and expected everyone to just stop and let them all through. Entitled UF fans (band) hard to believe I know. "Everybody just stop because WE want to walk through right now."
Not surprisingly most people (especially Miami fans) were like "wtf?" and just started "pushing" through like what happens when people are trying to move through a crowd. The UF band were more aggressive trying to prevent people from walking through than those that were trying to walk/push their way through imo. When my own 60 year old mother was trying to make her way through, one kid was about to push her and she said "Don't even think about ******* touching me." He didn't. I'm sure incidents like this were happening everywhere.
It's a college football atmosphere things are going to get a little rowdy. Of course we are going to get negative coverage but it is mostly FAKE NEWS. It was two groups of people standing their ground. A few people got roughed up I guess. If this incident happened 10 years ago it's not even news.
