FSU does not have more talent then us. Neither does Florida. If Jeff Thomas made routine plays we would have beaten UF.

Really not very good. Although when your program was never anything more than nouveau riche in the first place and is now going through a roughly 15 year down period (or a reversion to its actual historic norm depending on what way you view things), it’s somewhat to be expected.

FSU has the laziest, most undisciplined talent of any team in America. We had a crappy QB room, they have a whole roster that needs a kick in the butt.

Eh , that kind of goes hand to hand in retrospect. Miami has signed a higher ranked recruiting class than FSU in 2 of the last 3 years. Most of that talent fsu has had from 2016 to now hasnt amounted to anything, draft results shows that. Miami is recruiting better and developing players better than FSU is doing right now and it’s not really all that close.

Last 3 drafts Miami has had 20 players drafted while FSU has had only 12 in that same time span despite having a significant higher recruiting average compared to Miami the last 5 years or so.

Miami has had more talented roster than FSU for a number of years now and that’s not changing anytime soon. Just go position by position, it’s clear

Not in recent years. Miami has signed a higher ranked recruiting class than FSU in 2 of the last 3 years. Most of that talent fsu has had from 2016 to now hasnt amounted to anything, draft shows that. Last 3 drafts Miami has had 20 players drafted( average recruiting rank outside top 15 rank from 2015-2017) while FSU has had 12 selected(top 5 average recruiting rank in the country in that time period from 2015-2017).

My overarching point is that while they may have higher rankings in some classes a lot of them turned out to be busts tbh

Again you're confusing talent with development. This article is just going off high school rankings for the past 5 years. We've been out-recruited during that time frame. Just because we've closed the gap 2 of the last 3 years doesn't change the fact that in the last 5 years, the ranking services have us behind fsu.

What happens when the kids get to school, what kind of work they put in, what kind of attitude they have, whether entitled, lazy or whatever doesn't have any bearing on the articles premise.

This article is just going of recruiting rankings coming out of HS and what those rankings look like on a team roster

Not really. He left behind a roster of lazy, entitled, weak minded players that no coach in America could get to play well. Don't let the recruiting stars fool you. They did not recruit well. Just like Coker didn't recruit well, even though his classes were always highly ranked. You have to recruit guys with the right mindset, and Jimbo just recruited guys with stars by their names. Just like Coker. Yeah, he found a once in a lifetime QB, and a nice RB in Cook, but really, what the **** else? Bust after bust after bust. Sure, some of that is development. A bigger part of it is crappy evaluations. Especially character evaluations.
