Miami will play it safe, go with a name that will create a big buzz around both the community and former players - bringing them all together once again - and name Butch Davis the head coach, with Mario Cristobal as HCIW. A lot of old familiar faces will surface again.

I'll take this, and a majority of fans will eventually adopt the move as well. Will it be the best move? Time will tell…and we all love the waiting game.

I think the more time that goes by the more likely it is that they will talk themselves out of Butch. Butch is a **** pick but his obvious negatives will only become more decisive over time. If they are really talking to Kelly that could kill Butch just because it means they are going to be playing the waiting game. I think they pick Butch in the next 2 weeks or it will be someone else.

In a sense the Kelly talk worries me because while I think we couldn’t get a better coach and BJ would immediately go to Elvis status it’s a double edged sword. When you think you have a chance with a Victoria Secret model every other chick becomes less attractive and I really think Butch would be one of our best (top 3) options because of the buzz it would create. If we land her that would be FN awesome but can this Admin really go from Coker to Onion to Golden to one of the best coaches around? sure it does...no denying that. That's why if he is part of a combo package with Butch it can work. A salesman is only as good as the product he is selling. Selling the U and a Davis led program is a pretty darn good product. You can also add his familarity with the S. Florida recruiting landscape and the obvious relationships he has already built with the local coaches. These are all great selling points.

I agree that Butch is not the **** pick. That would be one of the high scoring O types everyone is in love with. They are the Victoria Secret models. Butch is more Paula Dean. Old and a little heavy but talks with that sweet Southern voice. Thing is that once Paul gets in the kitchen and start to cooking, the frigging results are going to be the best meal you have ever eaten full of butter and bacon high in calories and full a fat and sugar. When you send that hot **** model into the kitchen you are probably going be eat until you stave to death.

Hey, I am all in on the **** model thing. Many years ago I married one. Thirty something years later she still looks great but I have good about every frigging meal since. The question is what type of football team do we want -- kale or fried chicken, mashed potatoes and pecan pie. I can cook my own food but by God I cannot make Miami THE U again. People always claim they dont want Cristobal near Miami as an O-Line or TE coach but my question is "Why the F not"? If we get a great coach and a great recruiter under him that has relationships with everybody in Fla, thats a win win in my opinion. Whether people want to admit it, recruiting is major. Bama aint dominant solely because Saban and Kiffins coaching abilities...they have a roster full of four and five star recruits. Before anybody twist my words, im not saying that Cristobal is reason for all those recruits. Bama recruits itself but Miami does too...Cristobal would just take it to another level and keep those 5 star recruits that we lose to FSU, Bama and Fla every year. Cristobal shouldnt be considered as HC or Coord but whomever is hired at head coach would be wise to bring him on as a position coach....IJS.
