Assuming Mensah is good...

I put a decent chunk on Mensah to be the 1st overall pick, which means he will go 2 or 3

Very deep bro. And Trinidad? No flame but there are 6-7 QB’s better than him. It’s a deep class. Then there is always 3-4 more kids who have extreme metrics and have decent years who start to crowd the field.
 
If I thought he’d go anywhere but the 1st round you’d have a strong case. But i believe dude is about break records.
This yrs draft is Qb strong .. Even with that you can see dude play is crazy good. If he continues. He’ll go early .. If his management team projects him to go in the later rounds then: “ **** yeah” ! pay him the farm ..
 
Mentioned before Geoff Collins started a yt and he was asked about his 40 team tour he made it around before season , said Mensah was best QB, WR core was best he saw, etc. This is another interview he speaks on what he saw and his relationship with Mario and their early days at FIU.

 
As long as our line play gets figured out by Notre Dame and we don't sh*t the bed before then, Mensah has, imho, a better than a Chinaman's chance of passing us to a National Championship. Ward could have done that had we a defense with a pulse, but our D was D'Onofriesque that year and it couldn't stop an Optimist Team. This one can win a Natty.

Mensah can be First Round, First Pick, just like Ward and Mendoza if the coaching staff and the rest of the players don't ingest the Rat Poison and take care of business. But they have to close the Deal this year. That's the standard we're being held to.

Just off the top of my head as far as guys I've heard will be in the conversation. Kiper put something out recently saying he predicts at least 5 QBs will be picked in Round 1. But he could see himself getting up to 12 Round 1 grades.

I believe Kiper had Moore and Arch as definite first-round locks, and then he said he could easily see Mensah, Carr, and Maiava playing their way in. Trinidad's size will likely keep him down the board, but obviously he's an incredible college player.

Mateer will be in the 1st round discussion at season's end.

Leavitt at best will be a 3rd rounder.

Maiava, Sayin, Carr, Sellers, Moore, rounds 2-5.

Arch will get drafted in the 1st round because of his last name. But if Texas doesn't make the playoffs this season, there's a very high probability he returns for his Senior year.

Mateer is too erratic a passer for me. I don’t think he pushes first round. I think he’s underrated as a college player though. I expect him to have a good year in Norman.

This ****’s way too fluid to make any definitive projections though. I would be surprised if Moore falls out of the first round.

Would be awesome if he could become our fifth quarterback to lead the country in passing touchdowns (Steve Walsh, Vinny Testaverde, George Mira, and Cam Ward).

5 programs have done it 4 times: UMiami, Alabama, Fresno State, Nevada, Baylor

3 programs have done it 5 times: Florida, Texas Tech and Houston

2 programs have done it 7 times: Stanford and San Diego State

BYU has done it 9 times

there's a very real world in which he's a late first/early 2nd round type player in a QB class as loaded as this one. and at that point him coming back starts to get a good bit more realistic.

Joe Burrow doesn’t have a cannon. Not even in the ballpark of a Mahomes, Josh Allen, etc.

What he does have is elite anticipation. Mensah has this as well. And both guys are lethal against the blitz. They can stand there, wait till the last moment and then thread the needle as they get smoked by a blitzer. That will get you a very long way in the NFL. It doesn’t matter how strong your arm is if you can’t consistently read a defense and know where to go with the ball based upon how the defense rolls their coverage post-snap. Gotta process that lightening fast. Mensah clearly does that. He knew he had Mali for a touchdown on the first drive, but first, he had to keep his eyes to the left to make that safety freeze long enough for Mali beat his man. And he still had to get the throw off before the defender smoked him. I’ll take that over a QB who throws it 80 yards and that’s all he can do, which is rely on his arm talent to fit the ball places he shouldn’t even be trying to fit it.

If the Cleveland Browns have the #1 pick and it's projected to be Mensah, then he returns to UM for another $8 mill!

That pool just got a lot more shallow today— Arch exposed, Mateer exposed— ****- I don’t think Leavitt makes it the entire season without a serious season ending injury… Moore- he’s a 3rd round pick right now— maybe late second? Unless he strings a bunch of wins together but that’s 3 straight games back to last year 1st rd clunker to Boise clunker to this afternoon
