Assistants are currently being notified......

My comments were obviously exasperated due to the nature of what is currently happening and clearly don't apply to every termination. Besides I am pretty sure they are not really being fired but instead not having contracts renewed. Either way, you hire someone with a particular skill set and expect them to perform. You train coach and develop but at some point, everyone has responsibility for proving their own worth. I have always look at it as I have a family to and so do my other employees and employees that do not perform could affect us all. Have I been excited about some terminations? You betcha. I have also hated doing others. Regardless this isn't about it, it is about Miami getting new coaches. These coaches know what they signed up for.

Not only do they know what they signed up for, but they've been getting paid 6 figures+. It's not like he's firing some grad assistants that'll be broke. These dudes have options. It's part of the game.

Can confirm this report. Cager finished his Miami career with 10 touchdowns The Towson, Maryland native is considering Arizona State, Baylor, Maryland, Utah and West Virginia, per source.

If you’re gonna promote from within.. especially from a failed regime... the only way to do it is to clean house afterwards. S&C included. I’m fine with the defensive staff only because of their success despite the offensive and ST failures.

Diaz making it known he's the captain now and that this isn't just a continuation of the status quo from the prior regime. Exactly what we need.

Cleaning house offensively is a welcome sight and this is as perfect a time as any to pull the trigger. You can legitimately sell your new vision and a brand new offense with fresh new hires to the 2020 class and get a true first-year bump.

Why would Manny fire anyone on offense. Leave that up to the new OC. Most likely the OC cleans house....

If this were the NFL...I'd agree with you.

But there's one simple difference: RECRUITING.

Position coaches on pro teams have next-to no affect on the final roster. Totally different in college. You're trusting your position coaches to all be mini-GMs for your program.

With limited resources...your OC cant have complete autonomy in hiring guys that you have already seen not fit the way you need them to.

Give them enough courtesy to find other jobs as early as possible.
