As bad as this season seems...

Compared to our rival we lost by a lot less points then FSU. FSU 6 losses by -21, -23, -1, -49, -19, and -29. The U losses by -16, -3, -13, -8, -6. And except for the LSU game we were in each game late and made stupid mistakes. I believe we have the youngest team that now that we have a QB and if we redeem ourselves against Pittsburgh some of those recruits will realize we aren't as bad as our fans think and some of those on the fence will still consider the U. FSU lost at VT 24-3. We really need an impressive win Saturday and in which ever Bowl game we get. Then all is not lost and the program will still recruit as that is primary even over coaching. Imagine if we had a legitimate punter and a decent QB coach this year what our record might be. Field position is so critical and we failed miserably. The turmoil at QB is inexcusable but our defense has been awesome...the Canes thing is not wins and losses, it is how we play the full 60 minutes, so keep rooting since it is still Great To Be A Miami Hurricane!
What exactly is the Moral of this story

There's that old saying, you're what your record says you are. That's true in a very black and white sense, but that's not the world we live in.

There are always going to be some positive and negative takeaways on a season. That's reality and the gray if you will.

Things could be worse and also better. You look at it all and when you take it all in, that sort of determines what you think the future will hold.

Anyhow, I have no problem with the OP's point. He took a viewpoint and went with it. Someone else sees it another way. Same with another and so on.

You don't get points in losses, but some losses are better than others. There are even moral victories in a loss, but it's still a loss. So many people here only like to see the bad and run with it while trying to act all hard about it. Whatever, in comparison to FSU, we have the better season. Hopefully a recruit considering both will see it that way too. I think that's what you were getting on about.

You all are brutal...I prefer to see the glass half full and admit it, our defense deserved to win and now Perry is improving and even better Rosier will be GONE so one of our young QB's will have to start games. So FSU beat BC but they lost to VT 24-3. Of course I want to see a real QB coach and Richt with his headset off and a real OC in the booth or on the sideline. With what we have those two changes could be significant or should I say should be mandatory.

fraggle, I try to stay positive also, but it has been really hard to do so this year. I am not an expert on the X's & O's of football, but even I can see that we have a very vanilla offense compared to other teams. I have watched some of the UCF games and the difference in the offensive plays is huge. The thing that bothers me the most & has made me lose some respect for Richt is the fact that he put his unqualified son on the payroll and I suspect he is making in excess of $100,000. Nepotism will always come back to bite you on the butt. You set yourself up for controversy, and then it is difficult to fire them. Will he fire his son & will he hire an offensive coordinator & let him call the shots.....probably not. Thus, he can expect a heck of a lot of heat from fans & particularly boosters which will be well deserved.
