Article about Walton on CS says that he's still 50/50 to reclassify and has work to do on credits and other things. Hasn't taken his ACT yet either and still needs credits. He said he's solid but will visit Auburn and Georgia because he likes the way they run the ball. Says 97% sure he will stick with the Canes

Miami Booker T. Washington High School RB Mark Walton says the chances of him reclassifying to the Class of 2015 are now "50/50."

"I'm still working on it, hopefully I can do it," Walton said.

While previous reports indicated it's almost certain he will join this year's class, Walton says that's far from the case.

"I did a lot of classes already, need six more credits to get to 24 and through the whole school year I'll have to take eight classes," Walton said. "And there may be other things I need to get done that I don't know about yet."

He's also going to take the ACT for the first time in September.

Walton says UM coaches "are excited" about the prospect of him coming earlier than expected.

"Coach (James) Coley is recruiting me - he just tries to break down the field with me, show how they are attacking with the running game more last year and this coming year," Walton said.

Walton says he's "solid with Miami" but will take other visits to Georgia and Auburn.

"They've been coming at me hard and they do a great job running the ball," Walton said of those two schools.

So the chance he's still a Cane in the end?

"I'd say 97 percent in my mind," Walton said.

Not like it's a bad thing if he doesn't make it in the 2015 class. Actually I'd say it would benefit us greatly. Gives us a chance to take 3 RBs this year with Cronk, Williams, and Scarlett. Then Walton could be apart of an already good looking 2016 class.

THIS.

Kinda hope he stays in 2016 cuz then we would certainly keep cronkrite and still be able to reel in Scarlett. Then just bring Walton in next year. We'd have crazy depth.

Kid isn't making the 2015 class. Our 3 year RB haul will be silly. Yearby, Williams, Scarlett, Cronkrite, Walton, McIntosh. Then Burns in 2017.

True but a lot can happen in just under 2 yrs. Hopefully he sticks, Williams sticks...and everyone else jumps on board.

If Walton is unable to reclassify, it could actually end up being a blessing in disguise.

Pete explained in The Work that Cronkrite is already aware that he and Williams would be on the field at the same time, as Williams is buying into the RB/WR role in the offense.

2015 RBs - Williams (RB/WR), Cronkrite, and possibly Scarlett
2016 RBs - Walton and McIntosh

It would help create some separation between them, ease some of Cronkrite's concerns, and possibly make UM a more appealing destination for Scarlett.

Thats why I didnt get so worked up about the whole Cronkite situation and why im sure the coaches didnt either. Do you guys know how difficult it is to skip a phuckin grade? Esp if you talkin about someone with average intellect. The whole thing seemed too easy for my liking from jump and I said this very thing in another thread and people made it seem like skipping a grade was something simple and easy. My take on it was always if its that **** easy why didnt he did it years ago? Now he probably met with his guidance counselor and they told him to slow his roll...hes got alot more work to do. I wish the kid luck but I highly doubt he makes this happen.

Someone tell Cronkite to be easy..Its gonna be him and hopefully Scarlett..and DWilliams is an athlete. We will see Walton in 2016. Close the back door and lock it shut.

I agree too but there still a chance of dexter leaving and Scarlett not coming and only having cronk but hopefully it doesn't come to that!
