Article link: "I'm done with the U"

Well, dont let the door hit your *** on the way out. ***** *** mother ******. It easy to love a team when they are winning... When we do start winning again, just go ahead and stay in the shadows, no one needs you.

I feel you bruh. Anybody who supports this move to Adidas is A an old fart who isnt up with the times or B a *** who likes Adidas. No young kids wanna wear Adidas period.

Stopped reading at "I'm Done". The real fans will stick around, support the kids who spill their sweat, blood, and tears for the U, and demand we get back to winning. No need for whiners or quitters around here...

Sounds like a bunch of ******* fairies in this thread that are happy to support mediocrity and are bashing that fan who is fed up. **** you guys is all I got to say you slack jawed fa.g.g.ots

Facilities getting better, stadium getting better, sponsorships getting better, funding getting better, New president coming in. We are a coach away from being very good again and he will be here after next year.

Had pasted the article and people thought it was from me lol. Posted this am on Facebook. I do see the guys point tho. If more alumni stop giving money maybe they'll listen.

I’M ALUMNI. I’M FAN. I’M DONE

It was January 2, 1984. That was the first time I saw that beautiful, simple, yet powerful symbol. That orange and green U stamped on those white helmets that reflected the lights of the Orange Bowl like a beam of glory. As Calhoun tipped that pass and the subtle roar shook the drywall across our living room, neighbors all around the building cheered. That little private school had just become a National Champion.

That was the first football game I ever saw. I was a toddler then, but remember it like it was yesterday. As I grew up, I remember looking forward to those days when I would see those bright orange jerseys stain those of opponents, as Miami swept seasons, killed dreams in Tallahassee, and made Catholics cry. It was fun. It was predictable. Miami would win, or come **** close to it.

I decided to attend the University of Miami. Yes, there was NYU, and yes, there was Boston. But, as I remembered those days in the Fall and Winter, I needed to be in that hot student section, and needed to be in Mahoney dorm room or at the Ratt. I needed to be part of that history. I would be a Miami Hurricane for life, even if I didn’t share that field with those badasses. I, however, still felt like part of that family. I was a Cane.

I have been part of the University of Miami for the better part of my adult life. I have donated over $100,000 over the years, and have bought countless shirts, hats, jerseys, shoes, shorts, socks, and even that ugly orange and green wind breaker worn by Dennis Erickson. I even have an original Jim Kelly #12 Jersey that I still wear proudly on game day. #Kellystrong.

Now, in 2015, I really don’t know where my school went. I feel like a guy who has grown apart from the love of his life. My school and I have grown apart. Like a failed relationship, for the last 13 years I have tried everything in my power to bring things back to the good old days by speaking up, by complaining, by forgiving, by waiting for next year, and by, well, hoping things get better.

I have flashbacks of those days like that guy who remembers those romantic picnics with the girl that is now loving someone else. When I look at my school, it feels as if I’m no longer looking at my U. Take away those uniforms, the awesome student athletes who still believe, and our symbol, and it feels as if I’m looking at a different school. The U is now about basketball.. badmington…, and a Football program that is not coached to win the big ones.

Like that guy who has grown apart from the love of his life, I feel like I have no choice but to move on. I can’t keep thinking that things will be ok next year. I can no longer spend my hard earned time and money trying to force my school to give me what I need to stay loyal. I can’t get angry with the fact that I can’t have what I once had, and have no power to change her. She’s going a different direction, and so must I. Therefore, I now pledge:

I’m done being angry at Golden, Blake, Shalala, or whoever else is responsible for the decisions
I’m done commenting on Facebook posts from the ridiculous marketing department that calls the U “renewed” after a losing season
I’m done trying to justify to others that I am a “true fan”, just because I don’t support mediocrity
I’m done looking at rivals to see another recruit going to FSU, Florida, or Louisville
I’m done buying apparel, especially from Adidas
I’m done donating and supporting my program
I’m done caring. Period
As a fan and alumnus, I will always love and cherish those days where we were a family. However, now it’s time for the people in charge to do their job and come back to me. If they go a different direction, I wish them well with their new fans.

If the people in charge decide to come back, if they show us they want to win again, I will be waiting in the shadows ready to dust off my apparel, to cheer once again, and to support the program with my wallet. I will be here, ready to embrace my U.

Until then, I’m done.

Dont blame you one bit do not give them anymore Money :) I am done and not buying into anything they say, I am with DUH U I want to help them Destroy it........#GIVETHEMWHATTHEYWANT....... WATCH AFTER NSD WHEN THEY ALL FLOP LIKE FISH OUT OF WATER I CANT WAIT

As long as that figure isn't inclusive of student loans and/or actual tuition. I know too many idiots lumping that figure in as they beat their chest but then will belittle Joe Non-Alum from Doral that never set foot on campus but has been a season ticket holder for 25 years.

Don't bet on that the only way a new coach comes in after next year is if the Canes are decent and someone is stupid enough to go after Golden....... #UDONTCAREWEDONTCARE #FULLTHROTTLE......... Take away the Bricks is the way to show them

If that was real,I would have to say they are one weak a$$ fan. Almost as soft as the coaching staff we have right now. Grow a pair and stop being a fair weather fan. The people in charge won't be this bad forever. We will win again and it won't take long after this coaching staff is gone.

Not so sure UM will even HAVE a football team after this admins and BOT get through with this program.

This gang of ###hats will have some secretary look at this letter for two seconds and tell her to throw it in the "round file". This damned school has NEVER cared for a second WHAT the alumni, fans, and students think. Has always been this way and it won't change now. They are worse than one of these online for profit schools when it comes to grabbing your $$$$ and giving you chit in return. "Harvard of the South", my old wrinkled ###!!!

Not worth anyone's time to write something THAT long and send it anywhere at the U. This clown might as well have taken this epistle and whipped his ### with it after he wrote it. The effect will be the same!

More than one coach away. We don't have much of a budget for assistant salaries, something that has to change. I know we've been funneling most of our increased revenue toward long overdue infrastructure upgrading, but I hold out hope the Adidas deal will help increase the salary pool.

How can anyone not feel bad for the guy. Im envisioning an older man who doesnt spend time on message boards who now feels like he has no recourse other than walking away. He is a symptom, not a problem. Gotta feel for the guy.

I've been a CANES fan since 1980 and have the []_[] tatted on my right arm. I feel just like the guy that wrote the letter, and can feel his pain cuz it is my pain as well. The young cats now a days seem like they don't understand what the []_[] is all about, and how the university attached itself to the city of Miami especially the football program. Accepting mediocrity is unacceptable and if you want to do that by all means do it. Older cats like that person and myself won't. I will always root for the CANES players, but I will not donate one cent more until changes are made. The BOT members are business people and they understand money, which is why boycotting works.
