Best article written about Mario. Yes, we MUST WIN BIG this year which includes beating ND and FL with no excuses. Mario is on the hot seat and his coaching career is on the line. I said this three years ago that without player development and important wins on the field Mario's ability to recruit big time player will diminish soon. It is imperative we make it to the playoffs and win the ACC Championship game. Unfortunately for UM a great coach can make a big difference on the field translating to wins. We are at a massive disadvantage with that being said. I wish Mario the best and he has the players to have a great season. Time will tell and UM may have a find a new head coach if he coaches another debacle season. THERE ARE NO EXCUSES MARIO because you recruited these players, hired these coaches, have the financial resources to succeed, and facilites are excellent. GET THE JOB DONE NOW AND MAKE THE U RELEVANT AGAIN!

So, Mario is on the hot seat? Yeah, hope is the won-loss record continues to improve and we field a playoff team. Hot seat stuff is nonsense unless something crazy happens and the bottom falls out,

First off, who do you replace him with? If the game is about talent and recruiting, who do we hire that’s better? Who will do a better job engaging whoever the big money guys are? Have we forgotten those who preceded and led to mediocrity - Diaz, Richt (deserves a pass), Golden, Randy and Clappy? Best hope Mario succeeds because we’re screwed otherwise.

I promise you as of July 16 2025 Mario Cristobal is not on the hot seat lol .. he could have a norvell type szn & will still be the Coach to start off 2026, too much invested

Mario isnt on the hot seat. That is nonsense.

If Mario wins 7 games then yeah the negativity will be terrible because Cane fsns are typicslly loud in the streets, and quiet when it comes to supporting the program especially financially.

Miami is not the favorite to win the ACC this year.

Mario has a 2 year window to show substsined success and or make the playoffs.

Enough young talent on this team to be good at keast for 2 years, how good is the question.

But back to Mario's job security, do some of you realize how tight he is with the people in charge? Like the Schools President? The biggest booster?

I never said he's on the hot seat.

But I believe this is a make or break year for the program.

This is 99% his roster. His assistants. His coordinators. His portal additions , and his recruits.

This is year 4. Recruiting will get much harder if they dont show results like an ACC chip or playoff apperance.

I can buy the “this is the year to show it” concept. However when I see “make or break year,” I’m not sure what that means. It sounds sort of like “we don’t win and we are done,” but again, what does “done” mean? No hot seat? No head coach fired? After reading this last reply, I highlighted what I think you meant by the “break” side of the equation. If that’s correct, are you tied in to the boosters who make the large NIL donations? Have they specifically told you they’re putting a lock on their donations if we don’t make the playoffs? I ask because as far as I can see, as long as we have money to put with our offers, recruiting won’t get that much harder. Fran Clown just pulled a 5 Star from Miami to Snowacuse.

Recruiting is already much harder.
Notice the trend his first two years compared to last year.

At the current pace we will land possibly outside the top ten. Meaning if Miami doesnt win this year, they are back to the 10-15 range instead of the 5-7 range when we really need to get to the 1-5 range.

In order to do that they need to win and produce NFL talent. Or else Mario's peak will be 8-10'wins as a tier 2 program .

I was told there are more investors ready to jump in the NIL bamdwagon but are waiting to see if we win or not.
An ACC title would go a LONG LONG way.
