If we are can someone drop the information and link.
It does not have to even be major just to let him and the world know that once you are a cane we got your backTHE NFL WILL TAKE CARE OF HIM
THE NFL WILL TAKE CARE OF HIM
Found at mbksports.com:Are you 100% certain about that or just assuming?
I just looked it up: for total disability as an active player, Norton is entitled to $165,000 per year by the NFL. Not sure for how many years that’s for, or if there’s a cap.Found at mbksports.com:
“In addition to these programs, the current CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) also provides extensive injury protection and disability benefits. These benefits provide financial payouts and assistance to players who are rendered disabled by injuries suffered as a result of football-related and even non-football related activities while an NFL player.”

Good question, it just said “active players subject to total disability”. To your point, a player’s pension only vests after 3 years in the league. Is that for all players or just when players best, similar to the pension?
We didn’t have to send money or anything like that but cards and supportI obviously appreciate the sentiment and goal here but I think we sometimes jump too fast to the GoFundMe route following every type of tragedy/tragic situation. I honestly don't think we have much of a role here right now as a fanbase beyond the reiteration of public support/love.
The Dolphins will have to step up in some capacity first and then hopefully the UM network in a supporting role. Once this kid heals physically I bet the mental/emotional needs are going to be more pressing than any immediate financial ones.
I wouldn't bet on thatTHE NFL WILL TAKE CARE OF HIM
I’m sure someone here who has more knowledge about this, will post and clarify this. In all, I think there is some level of benefits that NFL players are entitled to, once drafted and on a team. Some info above is also correct regarding the team setting up some sort of a package for this particular case. Many teams have done that in the past.I just looked it up: for total disability as an active player, Norton is entitled to $165,000 per year by the NFL. I would love to see him as a GA down the road if he chooses that path. I just hope he doesn’t get to down. His whole life is in front of him. I bet Stroud would be a great mentor considering what he’s overcome health wise.
If there is some way to help out his family please post. Great idea OP.
Go Canes!
That's what I would be most worried about. The body can heal easily, the mind not so much.I obviously appreciate the sentiment and goal here but I think we sometimes jump too fast to the GoFundMe route following every type of tragedy/tragic situation.
