Certainly one of my rarest finds ever. Every bit of 10,000yrs old. Found in the Choctawhatchee River, 100yds from where it dumps into Choctawhatchee Bay (Florida/Bama line) found eroding out of embankment. 1997

The river (at that point) was only about 20ft Wide. The water, although spring fed, was alittle sooty....was found eroding out of the embankment about a foot above where embankment meets water.Very nice find. 10,000 yrs old (or more!!). Wow.
Arrowhead? Spear point? From several Archeology courses in college, I think it was by around 10,000 yrs ago the humans had developed a tool to shape flint.
"Eroding out of an embankment" -- how much was exposed to the naked eye/how hard was it to spot for you?
