Two Qs: Does AQM stay? Does he count against scholarship numbers for this year?
both unknowns. But with our current roster I think we are already -9.
I don't see why he would count as a scholarship though

Transfer is inevitable
And he would still have to sit out a year. Doubt he goes to Div II.
How about we look in the mirror and bash AQM for being the dumbass here. None of us know the extent of the incident so it is unfair to rip the administration until we do. The kid clearly did something very bad and take the fan emotion out of it as if it was your son that took the *** beating from AQM you'd probably feel different towards the situation
How about if it was your son that got into a fight with his roommate and now misses 5 months of school and loses an entire season?
Unless he smashed a microwave over his head and tried to strangle him to death with the power cord, I find this a pretty severe punishment for a fistfight.
The school has a code of conduct, and that needs to be administered evenly to anyone, I DGAF if it's a regular student or a star football player. Clearly this was not just a minor fight, given that we've had players get into fights and the admin didn't suspend them for that long. If someone, be it my son, or some football player, doesn't want to adhere to the school's code of conduct, then they should go elsewhere.
Of course you don't care if it was a football player. You're a nerd. The embodiment of everything wrong with the modern Cane fan.
UF suspended players for a game that never even occurred.
Miles got his star RB on the team after he turned into the Hulk and terrorized a bar.
James has literally lied raped and stolen with no repercussions.
I can list 50 more examples like this. Big-time football players aren't treated the same. Not at winning programs, at least.
But again, you're the new breed. The problem with the program. "Try hard, follow rules, graduate! Winning is just the icing on a nice big cupcake!"
Nope. Not in the real world of cutthroat college football it ain't. Win at all costs.
This. How could anyone blame him if he wanted to transfer. The school threw him under the bus. He should transfer and future recruits should be wary that the school will throw them under the bus too.Transfer is inevitable

I give him 10000/1 odds of finishing his football days at Miami. Put it that way.

I love the message board macho act. Pure gold.

He did get kicked out of school for the semester and can re-enroll in the springAtleast he didn't get kicked out of school....he can still practice with team...so its bad n good news....just learn from it and carry on...we will have an bigger, stronger experienced pass rusher/ LB in AQM next year ready to go.....he is also lucky the roommate didn't press charges on him so the University had to do something also to try n prevent that by punishing AQM...

Lmao at a football player being a "university student." Now I've heard it all. In title only, yes. You think these kids don't get special treatment academically?
And I'm macho because I'm telling the truth. Winning progrums don't have enough brooms to keep up with the way they sweep stuff under the rug.
Go buy a Yale scarf and attend their pre-game debate on foreign policy, that might be more your speed.

It's a god**** fight. Missing 2 games should've been punishment enough.
A whole suspension for a fight is absolutely ridiculous. When I was in high school fight was a 5 day suspension.
So you're gonna kick a kid out of school for an entire semester and take away a year of his career because some dork got his *** whooped?
The only thing that caused this to escalate to this point wasn't the severity of the fight (no charges fiłed), wasn't Alfred's doing (he was only sitting the kid to protect eligibility), wasn't the school trying to treat all student's equally and adhere to the code of conduct (roommate fights happen weekly in university housing and most end without any real punishment at all) but due to the mere fact that this kid lawyered up. Him and his family are the only people to blame here. He didn't chose to pursue criminal charges at the time so either there wasn't a criminal act committed and AQM shouldn't be punished or the kid regrets not doing so and is now back for revenge with a lawyer. There's no way there's an actual gray area whereas you can beat someone so severely that you deserve this lengthy a suspension from school but not severely enough to even be prosecuted for simple assault. This is just a case of the school running scared from a kid with a lawyer.
