AQM Suspended for the 2014 season

Heres a positive spin on it, at least its not our best pass rusher missing the yr because some punk *** walk on broke his jaw. We got some goons back!!!! lol

Sorry, at this point you gotta just laugh at it.... the crap these cats have been pulling, rape, assault, etc just ludicrous.... IMO this is on the player.... not anyone else.. However, at a point it does become on the coach and we are quickly approaching that stage...

I agree people are dense here, but from people in the know there is a real concern that this punishment was not equitable. The University better make sure that they don't have similiar cases without similiar punishments. They have most likely severed ties with this kid for good, and they need to expect the backlash. This isn't going to come from the fire Golden fringe, but from the broader UM Community.
 
At least we preserved his redshirt. Get this dude an unlimited meal plan and some vitamin S.

How about if it was your son that got into a fight with his roommate and now misses 5 months of school and loses an entire season?

Unless he smashed a microwave over his head and tried to strangle him to death with the power cord, I find this a pretty severe punishment for a fistfight.

Word on TOS is that he had an argument with his roommate and his roommate knocked over AQM's one year old son. That set AQM off. The police had already cleared AQM but then the administration got involved...

LOL, dude no way that can be true. If that guy had assaulted AQM's one year old son, then he would clearly have been justified in beating the **** out of him. And I can only imagine most of the players, staff, and a whole lot of students would be going freaking nuts right now on the Admin suspending him for defending his son from being assaulted.

I simply cant see a situation like that being accurate. Either way, suspension for an entire semester over a fight seems absolutely ridiculous, regardless of what caused it, but if the other dude messed with or assaulted AQM's 1 year old son, it would be unfathomable for them to suspend him like this.

The school has a code of conduct, and that needs to be administered evenly to anyone, I DGAF if it's a regular student or a star football player. Clearly this was not just a minor fight, given that we've had players get into fights and the admin didn't suspend them for that long. If someone, be it my son, or some football player, doesn't want to adhere to the school's code of conduct, then they should go elsewhere.

Miles got his star RB on the team after he turned into the Hulk and terrorized a bar.
James has literally lied raped and stolen with no repercussions.

I can list 50 more examples like this. Big-time football players aren't treated the same. Not at winning programs, at least.

But again, you're the new breed. The problem with the program. "Try hard, follow rules, graduate! Winning is just the icing on a nice big cupcake!"

Nope. Not in the real world of cutthroat college football it ain't. Win at all costs.
 
he could probably fight this with a good education lawyer i doubt it fixes this year tho

I'm fine with AQM getting whatever punishment he deserves. I emphasize deserves.

But something is messed up when Al is fighting for him not to be suspended - at least not for the season - its not an NCAA issue and there are no criminal charges.

But he gets suspended for an entire season?

Sorry but this smells like a bureaucrat on a power trip.

Right, so he can sit out another year and transition into a new system somewhere else? Makes perfect sense. Most schools have already started, so I'm not sure that he'd even be eligible for a full season elsewhere next year.

He's already missed TWO games. That's more punishment than most freaking players get for even worse transgressions at other schools.

Give him one more game and call it a day if they really want to make a statement. But the whole semester? What kind of assbaggery is that?
 
This is bull**** and unfair. He wasn't even arrested or charged of anything. **** the administration.

AQM, hit the weights, condition yourself and come back bigger and stronger next year for a money year. **** the UM administration. And idc, if your the football staff too. You fight for this kid, wtf man? Unreal.
