AQM Suspended for the 2014 season

This school and coaching staff are costing these players money.

This is the type of character issue that will drop a player's draft stock. Losing an entire season of eligibility is a big ****ing red flag compared to a few games.

****ing with this kid's future over a god**** fight. I'm so ****ed about this.

Are you really blaming the staff for "costing these players money"? REALLY? Did Al Golden beat the **** out of someone and then frame him?

There's absolutely no way this incident is as small as people are making it to be.

This goes much, much deeper.

..This Al Quadin decision was made above athletic department. Al Quadin claimed self-defense. Members of football staff think it's too harsh
This administration is the absolute worst. You ***s wanna talk about what hurts recruiting, it's stuff like this

Not a member of the football staff, but I think it's too harsh for an incident where the kid wasn't arrested or charged.

Things changes things. Time for Blake James to earn his paycheck

I'm ranting. But that post wasn't only about this incident. My hatred for Golden, Coley, Doritos and their ****-poor coaching leaked into my post there.

@PeterAriz: Coaches fought for AQM to play, but the school was having none of it. Minor incident leads to this. Good job, good effort, administration

i feel like golden has less control over this program than coker or shannon did. do we ever get good news?

it's a canes thing. Before you neg me how about some facts. Everyone talks about the Rape thing.
How about all the kids that left for not producing who were talented? Sentral right now is killing it in NFL and this staff couldn't get anything out of him.
Grimble, Ivery, Bunche, Hope, eddie johnson, Gionni Paul, etc. all these guys left. If golden recruited that many bad kids, he can't recruit. otherwise,
he doesnt have their respect. Gionni Paul is in Utah for christ sakes. Either way, I dont care because his time is up. just a matter of when he gets canned.

Smart for Al for not playing him and burning a year of eligbility.

AQM should transfer now.. He no longer wants to be associated with 3rd and long =rush specialist!! what kind of **** is this.. Golden is fabricating new positions lol

How about we look in the mirror and bash AQM for being the dumbass here. None of us know the extent of the incident so it is unfair to rip the administration until we do. The kid clearly did something very bad and take the fan emotion out of it as if it was your son that took the *** beating from AQM you'd probably feel different towards the situation

How about if it was your son that got into a fight with his roommate and now misses 5 months of school and loses an entire season?

Unless he smashed a microwave over his head and tried to strangle him to death with the power cord, I find this a pretty severe punishment for a fistfight.

The school has a code of conduct, and that needs to be administered evenly to anyone, I DGAF if it's a regular student or a star football player. Clearly this was not just a minor fight, given that we've had players get into fights and the admin didn't suspend them for that long. If someone, be it my son, or some football player, doesn't want to adhere to the school's code of conduct, then they should go elsewhere.
Not surprised you think the judgement is fair.

Not surprised you think players can do whatever they want without repercussions, as if they weren't students at the university.
Lol at you buying into the farce of the student athlete. Keep drinking the bull**** kool aid this admin is handing out. You're clearly too dense to understand

Not an NCAA issue? Not criminal? Code of Conduct you say...

But but the admin defenders keep saying this must have been something big. And you think the banner is going to hurt recruiting, how about a school that throws their players under the bus

Cleared by Police but punished by UM:

Al-Quadin gone from UM this semester; Stanton update; More comments besmirching Luol Deng; Dolphins linebacker situation, notes

A Friday morning update:

### Defensive end Al Quadin Muhammad is no longer enrolled at UM and will not be allowed to play football this season, the school announced today. But he will be allowed to return next semester if he chooses.

UM hopes that he will return to UM next semester but it was not clear if Muhammad will choose to do that.

Muhammad is being punished for a confrontation with a roommate that left the roommate with a broken nose. The incident happened a while ago, and the former roommate has since graduated.

The UM football staff isn't happy with this decision, which was made above the athletic department.

According to a source, the ultimate decision in cases of this kind is vice president of student affairs, Patricia Whitely.

Muhammad told UM that he punched the roommate in self-defense, according to UM athletic department person. There were conflicting statements when witnesses were interviewed.

Al Golden held Muhammad out of UM's first two games.

Muhammad, a sophomore, was a four-star prospect coming out of Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey, rated the nation's No. 3 weakside linebacker prospect and 49th best player overall. He had two sacks as a freshman.

He's the second four-star prospect UM has lost this week (with Muhammad, at least for a semester). Freshman safety Kiy Hester transferred to Rutgers because of a family medical issue.
