On Day 3 of the 2022 NFL Draft, Jon Ford was selected in the 7th Round with the 234th pick. This was Miami's only pick of the Draft. The talent drain was a big reason Mario Cristobal replaced Manny Diaz as coach.

Three years later, and Miami had seven picks in the draft (tied for 6th overall among college teams). This includes the #1 overall pick and another second rounder.

We aren't where we need to be yet in terms of roster, and we still need to get more out of the players we have. But this is significant progress.

Why did the Dolphins draft their THIRD DT instead of taking X with a compensatory 7th?

Sorry but I expected more from a guy i believe is the best in the business when it comes to talent acquisition. We've gotten better but still not as talented as I thought we would be.
Agreed. The lack of talent at positions like Safety is glaring. The lack of depth at an ultra important position like DT is also disappointing.

Yep...I think of it this way, if you would of told me when we hired Mario that going into year 4 we would only have 1 guy (Francis) on the roster that I would bet my house on being drafted in the top 3 rounds i would of said your smoking some serious meth.
