Applewhite X’s & O’s thread

I can't wait to get into this when I have time. It's exciting stuff and if it is indeed Applewhite at OC I'm really really happy (scheme-wise.)
I'm already anticipating a breakdown thread featuring stills and videos of all of Applewhite's concepts and how they can best serve Miami.

Get to work, Ghost.

Should beat the thread you made when Richt was hired. I remember the premise being that there wasn’t too many bells and whistles and a shallow cross concept that was figured out a decade ago

Looking forward to reading your detailed breakdown

Expect alot of fake screens, swing screens, and 3rd level rpo. I think Cade maybe the best fit for this offense.

Lance’s thread just got me on board. I didn’t love the hire at first, but I’m firmly in Apple’s corner for the time being.

The people pooping on this hire do not know offensive football. It’s that simple. We will score points

I like Applewhite a lot.

Youngest OC in the history of college football, at one time.

That tells me he’s smart. Really smart.

Miami will never be out-schemed again, on offense or defense. That can only be a good thing.

Plus he’s very good with quarterbacks.

Now let’s see what our athletes can do.

Really? Let's not pump so much sunshine in that it bursts.

Read some of my other posts....I’m not a sunshine pumper at all.

I’m the OP of the “Lowered Expections” post.

But I really like Applewhite as an X’s and O’s guy. I think he’s one of the best. Better than Fedora at that aspect.

If we get a great OL coach, we’ll make big improvements. That’s the key for me.

Excited to see what a real offense with motion can look like with our athletes. If we can get decent to good QB play we should top 10 wins with our schedule. Applewhite, if confirmed, would be an excellent addition to the Miami coaching staff. I have to believe the offensive players are stoked to get a chance to showcase their talent while working inside his offensive scheme.

We just lost 35-3 to a subpar team in the bowl game, and retained the entire D staff. Wish I had your optimism.

Scheme was just one of many problems we had.

All I'm saying is that I don't think scheme will be an issue for us anymore. We won't lose games on X's and O's.

Jury is still out on whether we have a QB worth a ****, and whether our receivers can learn to catch, whether our offensive line can learn to block, whether we play with passion and fire or come out flat, etc.

But at least as far as X's and O's go, I couldn't be happier. We have elite X's and O's guys on both sides of the ball now.

I'll never forget watching them tear FSU a new one. People will be VERY happy with results. This is the best OC hire I ever remember us making. I wanted Briles, but this is just as good.
Great post . I agree.
