I'm with you. I'd lose my mind if we could get him at QBC, but I don't think that's realistic. I'd take him at OC if we had an offensive minded HC. But with Manny running the show, I agree with the direction he is taking in bringing in a guy with a depth of both OC and HC experience. Maybe in two years if Fedora/Applewhite kills it here, Yost can be our next OC. This is why I could care less about people worrying about whether our OC hire is going to stay here long term. Who gives a fudge about that? Hire a talented schemer and playcaller that fits what we need right now, win some games, and when the position is open again, find another great mind who fits what we need at that time.

But he needs one more good P5 job. Texas Tech is a good place for him before one of the big dogs come calling.
I like the route Manny is going. This ain't some joke to him and I know he won't hire a joke OC or someone who's almost ready, but not the quite yet (Yost).
But he should be phucking higher than James Colonoscopy.

Everybody here loves Yost, but he doesn't have the resume some of these others do. He's a tweener for us right now. Too high up the food chain to be our QBC, not quite high enough up it to be our OC, where we really will benefit from having HC experience on the staff.

Yost was the OC for Missouri for like 10 years when they had Chase Daniel and Blaine Gabbert. He left to work for Leach as a WR coach to spend more time with his kids. Yost is beyond innovative. That being said he's at Texas Tech and he's not an option. Wish he was he is awesome.
