247's recruiting wrap-up says we sent Lammons an offer Friday but it was too late.

these last minute offers make no sense. these coaches have to do better than that.

Tell that to UGA. Offered McKenzie on Monday. He signed on Wednesday. The local school does it and it is a slap in the face. SEC school does it and they're all about it. Just politics. There aren't very many guys like Teraz McCray's in south Florida.

This is a fair point. We are getting further and further away from the days when kids would have done anything to play for the U. I remember when Osa Nosa actually CRIED when he signed with WVU, because he couldnt get into UM. Teraz McCray and his family's excitment when he got that NSD offer.

Part of it is that EVERY program is now camped out in So Fla. Its insane. Even the plan B and C kids are being heavily recruited now by the Marshall's, Western Kentuckys, Northern Illinois, Cinncy, USF, etc... Back then, it was the big 3, and a few other top programs recruiting So Fla hard, and a few other schools that would send offers to kids who couldnt qualify, or would try to steal a few kids here and there.

Now there are literally DOZENS of programs camped out in So Fla offering more kids than ever before.

Lammons was offered in Feb. of 2013.

Perhaps we shied away, stopped recruiting him, etc. and then re-established the offer. Pretty clear the two camps drifted apart, but apparently we did something Friday that struck him as noteworthy enough to inform a reporter.

Like I have been saying. For So Fla kids, getting a UM offer, is like getting the nice girl next door, or your second cousin to agree to go to the prom with you if you cant find a better date.

They are happy and relieved when they get the offer, then go about looking for something better.

Pretty clear what happened. AG and staff didn't expect JC to take a last second unofficial to U*** and when AG showed up, the writing was on the wall. I don't get the offer though. Did they really think he'd take it?

Where do u guys get your info from we were the first team to offer that kid... he just didn't want to come to mia stop making up storys

Lammons said this to a reporter on another network. Call him up and argue with him.

Makes Sense. Just never here a prospect say that they was re-offered or offered a second time. Usually its "Showing interest again".
