Apparently he wasn't good enough for an offer

Pat Surtain (Alabama)
Rashad Weaver (Pitt)
Elijah Moore (Ole Miss)
Jose Borregales (FIU then Miami)
James Wiggins (Cincy)
Nik Bonitto (Oklahoma)
Tiawun Mullen (Indiana)

Surtain is the only one we pursued out of HS.

Didn't we drop him?

Doubt you’ll know the answer, but you’re pretty plugged in.
Sometimes a recruiting class or current roster have say in who else gets recruited and pressure coaches etc. to do so because theyre actually good or it’s a culture fit and what not. Wondering if any of these players, listed didn’t get along with anyone on the team or that recruiting class, so it might of been a “You recruit him and I’m gone and taking etc. with me”.
I know the coaches are the ones who decide but this does happen, happened when I was playing college ball between 2006 and 2011, just wondering if this is another variable in SFL that gets included in who gets an offer etc.

Bruhhh I wanted Bonitto so bad. That was a major fail by this staff. We don’t wanna stack chips.

My sauces say that Mullen was on Corch Rumph’s super secret recruit list which he is not allowed to recruit from.

So by my count, that's 7 South Florida guys who made first or second-team All American. We didn't even offer six of them.

Pretty good for some divas.
WE DIDNT OFFER THEM! They can be divas, all-americans, or have the ability to fly. It's totally irrelevant. They aren't at Miami.

I mean the guy ended up at Indiana so about 100 other FBS teams didn’t think much of him either. There’s always going to be late bloomers or guys who fly under the radar. You hate to miss on a quality player but nobody hits on everything.
this comment keeps getting made by NPC porsters. It’s crazy. It’s Miami’s job to evaluate the kids in its home turf. You don’t blame miami for failing to find a gem in missouri and you don’t blame missouri for failing to find a gem in so fla.

The idea that all schools pick over so fla at depth is absurd, and the idea they should is absurd. schools all focus in recruiting, and generally start in their own back yard, for good reason. the ones who spread to thin make unnecessary eval mistakes, which is its own form of punishment.

if miami can’t find the best kids in its home territory, its failing all around at recruiting. just stop recruiting anywhere else until it figures it out.

Hoosiers have had the best development in the country the prior 2 years, and even this year that guy is **** good at S&C.
They also play a sophisticated defensive scheme hiding their coverages and blitzes. I saw an interview after the Ohio State-Indiana game where they changed it up the last two seasons. Unlike UM where we declare whose blitzing before the snap as if it's a requirement making it easy for the QB to know where to go with the football.

As pathetic as this would have sounded even 2 years ago.

The new CB coach needs go tamper with him and get him to come here. Indiana’s DC left to become the new HC at South Alabama and the CB coach followed him.

It will help recruiting his brother for next years class as well.

The idea is this......youre going to have some misses. Even jimmy Johnson didn't get every kid he wanted but the idea is you need to hit on the guys u do get and safe to say Miami didn't do that. Wiggins and Harley are two of the most uncoordinated wr's in Miami history and pope is trash. I've never liked ivey or wiggins....... to slow. same reason why I wasn't a big fan of guys like Charlie jones, lovon ponder or even Deleon farr.

Miami has been some what arrogant when its come to recruiting for awile. That can be attributed to ****** coaches who though they were better then they are simply because of the "U" on his polo shirt. iTs the same line of thinking some of these kids like pope have right now. might as well add Mallory to that group to.

Do you actually believe that ANY school has a 100% local evaluation history? Like no under the radar kid in Los Angeles or Houston ever got missed by the local major programs? The NFL is full of kids who went to G5 programs or lower. Every single one of those guys was a miss by their local schools. Your take is garbage.

QP is not only an NPC, but apparently a dullard too. Your dumb straw man retort is middle school logic. No one has ever asked for or claimed 100% perfection is the standard. That you even ask that marks you as a Cokeresque clown. There’s quite obviously a galaxy of distance between the ****ass evals our staphs have done and perfection. The results have stunk, in case you haven’t noticed. If you think we should be defending their failures, then go right ahead and do so. My expectations are higher than that, while still quite below 100% perfection.

I loved Bonito and Moore. Really wanted them on the team, along with Weaver. Obviously Surtain. But those other three would have accepted our offer and should have been Canes. Regarding Weaver, I know we've been solid at DE. But remember we had to go portal to build depth. I don't recall if we ever showed interest in him.
We didn't. I wasn't coaching him at the time.

He originally committed to Michigan, then they dropped him, thus he ended up at Pitt.
