APP STATE

The fact that we have to even think about app state should tell everyone all they need to know.

Im about positive they dont have a single 4 star on the entire roster.

We will win but it wont be pretty.
If we weren't thinking about App State based on their school name we'd be foolish. They've won the Sun Belt 3 of the last 4 years and are 42-10 in that time.

They have nothing but 3 star players. We should beat them by 30 without trying.

If this game is close we will be lucky to win 8 games this year. The line is an overreaction. They can’t lineup against Miami. They aren’t as good as they were the last couple years either.

App St. is a top 40 program. Don't be surprised if the AAC calls them, Coastal Carolina, and Louisiana to fill in potential vacancies. With that said, we should beat them by at least 14 pts.

fans just like we are now. if we dont Bully App state I will be freaking shocked and disappointed
I said earlier in another thread we will see who we are saturday. if this game is close past mid 2nd qtr. were in for a long season but we prob blow them out

App State is better than Michigan State and a number of acc teams. I saw early Michigan state lines were at -14.

I might take App State +8 because of how overconfident our fan base seems. Vegas doesn’t give easy money and Manny Díaz is our coach.

I rewatched their game vs ECU which was closer than the score appeared. Chase Brice stinks. If we show up motivated which I think we will, we win 40-17.

The first thing that stuck out to me watching the entire game was that they lack speed all over the field. They also don't look as good on defense compared to that 2016 team to me. It was 1 game, but based off what I saw, it'll be disappointing if this isn't a snoozer.

To me if Rambo, Smith and Restrepo continue to get reps over Wiggins and Pope then we'll comfortably win a lot of these games that were uncomfortably close last year.

Our biggest problem on O in 2020, besides the drops, was our inability to win the 1-on-1 matchups this O schemes. Smith looks like the first legit NFL receiver to walk through here in a number of years (yes I'm aware Osborn is pulling down NFL pay cheques, but he was only alright imo). Fingers crossed the younger guys live up to the same standard.

App State is a well-coached team that will play pretty disciplined football (at least one offense). Peoples is a solid RB with power who lacks speed and elite traits. Their OL isn't full of special dudes, but they execute their zone blocking scheme pretty well. And Chase Brice looked pretty solid at QB against ECU.

But that defense is subpar and small. I'm expecting this to be more of a 33-17 type of game.
Serious question, are we well coached and disciplined?

No. If we were well-coached we wouldn't show up looking unprepared and sleepwalking in Q1 so many games. And while I wouldn't say we are undisciplined, I wouldn't say we play particularly disciplined football either (especially on defense). Though I do think we are better coached from a positional standpoint than we have been in some time.

But even with that, we should easily beat App State.
