You don’t think losing to the #6 team is better than losing… you see how that works?

We need to worry about winning our games and getting better as a team. Doesn’t much matter what they’re ranked if we win all of our games and improve each week; Miami’s biggest opponent is themselves.

The defensive unit’s energy sucked today until after Thad scored, and then we proceeded to get multiple sacks. The 50/50 jump-ball defense is atrocious and we still lose contain on the QB. Our ceiling is somewhat limited by talent but aTm’s isn’t, so we have to play better than them no matter what they’re ranked.

The OL also had issues with pass protection and it seems our team had to get adjusted to their talent level early on. Our team lacks leadership on defense that holds everyone accountable; it seems motivation to play hard remains external, and I can see us taking an uneccessary L because we responded too late.

As would most Saban teams agree. And UGA . So I think this was supposed to be an attack on them but its more of neutral statement IMO. You need to be able to go on drives like that but you also need to be able do what we did with the drive where we used the flea flicker to score. You need a good mix of both.

Again, we were in a dogfight with a bad Southern Miss for more than a half. They struggled to “complete a forward pass” against Liberty. I promise we would have been down to either App or A&M.

I’m not saying either of these teams are world beaters, but we obviously don’t have room to act like we’re better right now.

Oh trust me, I know. Just wondering how their fan base will handle this game. If they’re like us… not so well.

Exactly. Bama squeaked out a win against an unranked 20 pt underdog Texas team and looked sloppy and undisciplined many times throughout the game.
 
idk which poster said app state is a good litmus test but he was a 100 on that estimate.

Miami fans on this board have always twisted playing a bad game vs being schematically bad & not being put in the right position to maximize talent. Gattis does not maximize what we have.

Clemson isn’t great either. ACC sucks this year

Actually, when I really think about it, seems like **** near everyone except Georgia has looked bad/mediocre so far. Weird start to the season.
