AP Top 25 Poll (11-10-19)

There's always been a bias as far as college football is concerned.what's ruined college football is big money.no longer does any team in div 1 have a chance to win a nc.

Georgia beat ND and Florida, two top ten teams at the time. Baga has beaten nobody, and was routed at home with two weeks to prepare.
Notre Dame got smoked by 30 against Michigan. Florida is solid but who exactly have they beaten? Auburn at home. That's it. Bama lost by 5. That's not called getting routed.

The top 5 are 1. LSU 2 Ohio State 3 Clemson 4 Bama and 5 Georgia . After a big win over Penn State, the Minnesota Gophers jumped from #13 to #7. First time Minnesota has been 9-0 since 1904.

That's kinda misleading about Minnesota. They won national titles in the 30s and 40s including 4 undefeated seasons. But everybody played 8 games back then. So ended season 8-0 a few times since 1904

The problem is the standards are different for Alabama vs. everyone else. The previous week when Clemson was put at 5, behind Penn State, the argument was that what Clemson did last year was irrelevant, all that matters is this year, and Clemson hadn't beaten anyone of note and didn't look impressive. Fine, that's a fair argument. However, Alabama at that same point hadn't beaten anyone of note, and didn't look impressive either, yet Penn State did not jump them. Now, we have a Minnesota team that beat the Penn State team that the voters thought was good enough to put at #4, and is undefeated, but somehow Alabama, who still does not have a signature win, who's defense has looked suspect all year, and who lost at home, is ahead of them, and so is Georgia. Wearing an SEC patch on their jersey gives teams automatic extra consideration, and when it's 'Bama, that applies even more so. The SEC are held to different rules and standards than the rest of college football for recruiting and for rankings.

Great post, you just laid it out for anyone still doubting and it's horse ****!!

Yup . Florida lost two games in 3 weeks and dropped a total of 3 spots . I get that they lost to highly ranked teams, but come on man

A loss has to actually mean something and it doesn’t in the SEC
This is why I was against the CFP going to 4 and will likely stop watching all games outside of Miami if it expands. Losses to the top teams mean nothing even if it’s to Troy. Fixed system

Idk man I think I’d rather see it expanded to 8 . Maybe make the regular season one game shorter , that in itself would make losses count for more and make it harder on the voters/ SEC to keep doing this ****

I really dislike the undefeated > All mentality, I think it's simplistic and dumb for the most part. For example, Baylor/Minn are a **** of a story, but they would get decimated by a top 2/3 team,
Aside from OSU and LSU the rest of the teams are looking like fodder. That's one of the reasons I don't think the playoffs should expand, every year we have 2/3 clearly dominant teams and 2/3 that we could make an argument for being in the top 4, but they're not on the same class of the top 2.

Clemson is good but a lesser version of last year, Bama lost to the good team they played, OU is shaky rn, PSU is good not great, the same goes to Oregon, Minn will have to play OSU so they should fall off soon enough, UGA is ok at best, I liked Auburn early but they're not there.

Bama is ranked 4th because Oklahoma reverted back to the end of the Stoops era and is losing or getting into shootouts with teams that they shouldn't and Oregon is being Oregon.

The problem is every year there are teams that have a legitimate argument to be in over others but there are only 4 spots. They come up with a different excuse to keep putting the same BS teams in and the only way to make it fair and have a better chance of knocking the same **** teams off, is expanding.
It's almost not worth it when it's New England and Baga.... EVERY. FACKING. YEAR.
