No Florida to be seen...

They love them some Jimbo, plus the recruiting hype etc.

If they don’t make it to Atlanta (and I fully don’t expect them to), then patience will start to run real thin in CS.
Its pretty ridiculous. Beating Alabama last year is the difference between #6 preseason ranking and Jimbo on the hot seat.

I'm sure you're well aware that they went 8 & 4, but have u seen who they won those other 7 games against?

They swept their murderers row of nonconference opponents. Kent State, New Mexico, Colorado and Prairie View A&M.
Their SEC wins were Alabama, South Carolina (7-6), Auburn (6-7) and Missouri (6-7).

I'm not even trying to say the suck.. but #6?! For beating Alabama and having a good recruiting class?!

Ohio State gotta be one of the most underachieving elite teams in history . For like the past 10-15 years they’ve been top 5 or better in recruiting rankings , just to have 1 ring in the last 20 and 2 in the last 50 . I guess they happy with almost

Last year's #16 team in the final AP poll in January was Louisiana....so being a Go5, not the best comparison.

But the #15 team was Wake, who went 10-2 in the regular season, won their side of the division, lost in the ACCCG, and won their bowl game to finish 11-3.

Isn't that pretty much what we're all expecting this year? Or that seems to be the general consensus for us having a good year.

So, if that's the case, we should be ranked exactly where we are.

Preseason rankings help in a number of ways. First, it help recruiting. Second, if an unranked team has a very good year it must jump previously ranked teams to qualify for the top bowls. If that team starts ranked highly, it just must maintain. The only team I have a real issue with is USC. They finished 4-8 and have a new staff and a bunch of new transfers. They may be good but to assume they are a 10-2 or 9-3 team is, in my opinion a stretch.

Using logic and data will get you nowhere on here.....lol

16 is a little over rated imo at this point. We need a win against a&m or Clemson. Do that and win the games we are supposed to on the schedule would make for a great year. The rankings will take care of itself.
If we beat both we’re a legit top 4 team. If we beat one we’re top 10. So how is 16 overrated lol

Didn’t take long for this stupidity to be posted.

Yup. Miami needs to win football games and you always want to climb in the ranks. Why root to be unranked instead of starting out #16 with some momentum.

A far cry from that overrated #8 rank to start the 2018 season, before getting mopped up by #25 LSU, 33-17.

Sitting inside the Top 15 going into aTm is more marquee than unranked taking on #6.

ND, new head coach & a history of under achievin..

Here’s another way to look at it if you think the AP voters are brain donors.

This is BetOnLine’s odds to win the natty, sorted by AP poll rank. Only 8 teams have better odds of winning the national championship.
