Ap poll being released today

As the Canes win each play and each game, contest after contest, the AP pollsters will move them up very quickly.

Lose, and it just gives them an excuse to drop them farther than they would another team under the same circumstances.

The AP poll argument is invalid. They have Louisville in #19 slot.

Louisville at #19 ? I feel like going on an Allen Iverson-esque "we talkin bout practice!?" rant.

Maybe the Cards shock the ACC and NCAA, but Im thinking the only thing #19 about that squad is Petrino still has 19 stitches left over from is motorcycle and intern girlfriend wreck.

Louisville at #19 ? Are we talking about Louisville at #19 , over #22 UNC?

Or at least thats what Iverson said...

Espn has been hyping the Cards all off-season as the ACC's third best team. I have no idea why because I have no reason to follow them

The SEC has one down year and all you idiots starting pushing out your chest. They constantly put out the best core of teams and push out the most draft picks, yet you guys seem to think they are on the verge of collapse.

The NFL seems to think the best brand of football is played in the SEC. You Miami homers seem to be the only experts who believe otherwise.

Please tell me again how great the ACC Coastal is.

Dude, are you serious? Miami, FSU, Clemson, and ND are 4 of the top 10 colleges with the most players in the NFL. The SEC also has 4 of the top 10 with LSU, Bama, Georgia, and Florida. There is a comparable level of talent from both conferences.

First, ND isn't in the ACC. Please educate yourself.

Second, go back over the last ten years and the SEC, by a wide margin, has had the most NFL picks. Furthermore, SEC players across the board grade out higher in the NFL. Top to bottom nobody compares to that conference.

LOL at "sec players across the board grade out higher in the NFL." You've taken this SEC honk schtick to the ultimate level with that one.

Well that's actually true about the players coming from the SEC.

I'm sure it is. Why don't you provide some proof for that claim so I can join you in spreading the word.

Louisville will probably finish the season higher than 19. Petrino is an excellent HC, and this is the year he usually gets his teams into the 10 win area after he takes a job.

Just watch the opening week of college football and see how good the SEC is. They may not win them all but they surely will win most of them.

The SEC is balls deep in you.

I just like watching good football. The ACC just doesn't get it done. But Miami fans have neve been able to grasp college football as a whole.

The SEC is overall good but that doesn't diminish the fact that they are immensely overrated as a whole in the scheme of things.. If LSU goes 9-3 or 9-4 I guarantee they will still be top 15 (unless those losses are back to back to back), solely because they are apart of the SEC. If Clemson or FSU ( only saying those 2 because they are in the top 5 and in ACC) were to post a 9-3 or 9-4 record they would be 20-25 or unranked, depending on what manner they got the losses. That is the SEC bias that EVERYONE outside of the SEC fan base sees

ACC has the potential to get 6 quality teams. Clemson, FSU, UNC, UL, VT and Miami.

Louisville will be very good this year. I think they beat FSU this year.

Just need brother Richt to get us to ten wins and the coastal.

I get the same thoughts re: Louisville as I do when Stewart Mandel and others pick Pitt as the ACCCD champ.

I've looked over L'ville from last year to this and just don't see a #3 best team in ACC. Without question, Petrino can coach and bang interns with the best of them, but I just didnt think Louisville was a program to watch in the ACC headed into 2016.

Are we overlooking something about their squad? Will they shock the world?

No we grasp college football. We just toss out the bias. I've seen SEC teams have high scoring games while getting praised for great football while Big 12 gets criticized for terrible defense. Same happens in low scoring games. For the SEC it's just dominant defense but the rest of us just play ugly offense. You should try other channels besides ESPN man

Barring ACCCG and bowl appearances, it will be tough for L'ville to make the 10 win mark in the "regular season". By my estimation, they [the Cards] will have to go at least 1-2 in their contests against Clemson, FSU, and Houston.

Difficult, but not impossible for sure.

Don't understand the ND hype at all. They have 4 returning starts on offense and 3 on defense. Offense ice line has 3 players that are a sophomore or younger, at a position that takes time to develop. They just lost there star TE due to grades and now there best DB(redfield) is kicked off the team. Only thing they have going for them is there cupcake schedule.

I don't get the fear of ND either. They're replacing that WR that opened up their entire offense with his blazing speed too. That dude kept everyone honest.

I don't get the hype for FSU being a NC caliber team this year either. They've got a total unknown situation at QB. No way I'd ever pick a team to be in the NC game with such a huge question mark at the most important position.

I think the FSU hype comes from the fact that the last 5 national champions have had a first year starter at QB. They have recruited well, so people figure that they don't need a QB to win the game for them.

You make your own choices in life.

You've chosen to hype the fūck out of the SEC. Good on you.

Most people with any sense realize the SEC is in reality a very good P5.

But they also realize they are top heavy with Alabama the 800 lb. gorilla at the top, and that once you get past their top 2-3 teams, they're very average at best.

The league benefits from overexcited cūm garglers like you who then overrate the rest of the league and then when they play each other and lose, the losses don't seem as bad.

This is one area where preseason rankings do help, with the overinflated perception of all SEC teams, with the exception of top couple. Since so many low level teams get put in the top 25.

But you do you. Keep lapping up that hype like a thirsty dog.

I'm just not buying it with FSU. They need a major force at QB to win big. They ain't Bama that can run Henry 45 times and then go over the top to Ridley in 1 on 1 coverage.

Of the 1st year starters you mentioned, 2 were transcendent players--Cam and Winston. Bama did it with a running game and D. Ohio State rode Jones for a 3 game run. Francois will have to be a special player for FSU to win or compete for a NC.

barrett was at OSU for most of that year too though - first year player and not really transcendent

Correct. Still not buying FSU based on that one example. OSU was playing lights out D at that point too, which is something FSU won't be doing under Kelly.

FSU was 10th in S&P defense last year, and wasn't expected to be that good. Return almost everybody.

OSU was 11th in S&P defense when they won it all. Bama was 1st last year.

Good to see all the FSU guys coming to FSU's rescue. You think FSU is going to play for the NC this year? If you don't, then we agree. If you do, then let's bet on it.

No bias . The SEC is the dominant conference and has been for years now. More OOC wins ,More players in NFL, and plenty of Championships.

More OOC wins? Have you seen their nonconference schedule yearly? Biggest joke in sports. More championships are easy when you were give a 50% shot by the BCS. Did you see the opponents that were lined up for SEC teams in the bowls last year? It was a joke. They learned their lesson when the SEC West got shut out the year behind. The SEC is an investment by ESPN and the powers that be protect them with all costs. How many SEC teams actually do home and homes with nonconference teams?

Well this is a nice little shakeout.

The FSU and SEC slurpers are out in the open.

Sorry for the interruption. Please continue with the SEC and FSU love on a canes fan message board?
