Anyway we have a 2010 type of yr?

the mopers will tell you this season will be like 2007 at best.

they want a season like 2010 in order to get Golden fired.

All depends on Duke and Yearby. Especially Duke.
If he comes back 100% then watch out.

Who's the qb for Louisville? You people who think Louisville will be a great team seem to forget they've never been great, except for the past couple years when they had Bridgewater.
Sans Bridgewater they've been crappy to average, with a few good years sprinkled in between the decades.
Think Loyola Marymount with Bo Kimble and Hank Gathers then without.

Our tough matchup will be FSU.

With A healthy Duke and Yearby there's no reason this team shouldn't have a very good season, and like every year, if luck is on our side, a great season.

We should not lose to anyone. Every team we play has a new starting QB except for FSU. Excuses are out the window, we cant play that card of having a "new QB" this year is going to come down to the defense shaping up and showing up. WE have 2 weeks to prepare for Florida State and Virginia Tech. Honestly we should at least be 10-2 this year. A win against FSU is what im looking forward too the most. i just have a great feeling about that match up this year for us.

Personally, I think we're looking at 8-9 wins this year, but we will see improvement in several areas.

What I mean is, I think we'll field a better defense (top-30 - not all-world, but not the C-F we've seen the last 2 years) and a more consistent offense, but the breaking in of a new QB and stiffer schedule may tip the balance.

You guys do realize that every year since Golden has been here our wins totals have "trended" upwards, correct?? That's exactly what took place during his tenure at Temple as well. Now, before all the Anti-Golden fans come and try to bash me, let me be clear, I HATE OUR SCHEME & I THINK HE'S SOFT AS A COACH; however, at the same time, I also feel that he's molding us back into a respectable football program, which will lead us back to being a powerhouse as recruits start seeing us put up more and more wins. What's he's done for our team is amazing w/ the camps, and events trying to piece back the community. I get it, we don't want to see a Defense give up 500+ a game, but to be honest, we've had a make shift team for the past several years. 2010-2011 classes were make shifts and we had too many entitled players who didn't put in the work and continued to rely upon what they did in HS. Now we're getting the right players starting w/ that 2012 class. I personally feel we'll win the Coastal this year w/ 10 wins. Call me naive, but I see a positive light shining thru.

it could be worse. QB is a HUGE question mark that doesnt look promising.

Williams could be Kirby Freeman 2.0

I see 5 to 7 wins. the defense is still gonna really suck. all depends on how ****** Williams is. if he is really really ******, we are looking at a 5 win type season. if he is just kinda ******, then 7

I think we will be pretty much the team we were last year but could bb etter if the interior dl improves. We will get to the acctg thats likely or barely miss it again imo.

and why would you think thats gonna happen? who have we brought in to play DT?

DT is a dumpster fire as well as this ****** ******* "scheme" these clowns run.

the defense is gonna be more of the same. compounded by a struggling offense with a D2 QB

We haven't blown out L'ville since the 1980's

Here are the last 3 times we have played L'Ville.

2013/12/28 Louisville 36 - Miami FL 9 L Russell Athletic Bowl
2006/09/16 Louisville 31 - Miami FL 7 L
2004/10/14 Louisville 38 - Miami FL 41 W

We did not play them at all during the 90's. We were much more talented than them in both 2006 and 2004.

More than likely. I see 4-4 in the ACC (could be 5-3 or 3-5), loss at Nebraska and a "Wait till Kaya in 2015!".

No way we suddenly start outcoaching teams, and no way we have much better guys on the field than the team that couldn't stay in the stadium against Duke or VT last year.

"This is REALLY Golden's first season" will be posted here by halftime of the UL game.

I'm thinking that around early December we will revisit this discussion, hopefully when we are all talking about our chances in the National Semifinal game.
Yeah, I'm that much of an optimist.

When we are at that point, I'm hoping most of you doom and gloomers, do the honorable thing and fall on your sword.

I'm thinking we will have a year more akin to 1987, Jimmy's 4th year.

I'm probably the only one thinking this, but I have a feeling about this year.

Yea the first two loses were led by the first guy to start the downward spiral for the program. Petrino will have the team ready but we should be able to take them especially with a new quarterback and new system for him.

That 2010 defense was ranked 22nd giving up 323.3 ypg and had the 27th ranked scoring defense at 20.69 ppg.

If our defense does that good this season we might **** around and make that 4 team playoff.

LOL, Rudebuddha, if they had a semifinal game for the ACC, we'd have about zero chance.

I think we will be 7-0 going into Lane Stadium. It's a night game. Blackout or whatever ghey thing they are gonna do. Tough to win on the road at night in the NCAA especially in Blacksburg.

How we play in that game even if we lose will set the tone for anything else.

I don't see us in the hunt for the top 4 unless a bunch of teams step on their d1cks.

Bridgewater was the guy that shut our offense down completely?, and as Dorito has proven, ANY opposing QB will light us up.

UL already outcoaches us. I'd say we have maybe a 1-10 chance of beating them.

I'd say losing Bridgewater would help us against Louisville if I haven't already seen mediocre QB's from less talented schools light us up routinely.

I'd be surprised if we had a Randyesque slide, i expect we'll be a bit better than last year, and if we keep everyone healthy that will show in the W-L column.

Let's be real, there is a high percent chance we go down in wins. 6 to 7, 7 to 9 is easy to do. Where the coaches make there money is in the double digit column. This is where coaches get fired.
