Anyone have a guess at S?

Depth chart is rather lacking there after Highsmith/Rodgers leave, from pure #s perspective. Feels like we definitely have to take a few. But I don't see us being portrayed as all over anyone, specifically, and not many big names on the list. Anyone have any guesses?

IIRC Gayot didn't name miami on his list of official visits. Next year we will have 3 scholarship safeties not including Gray next year. We can't include Gray in that group yet from a multiple reasons. (Academic issues, rumors to Louisville, & he's an ATH that could play WR). I would probably have to guess the staff is going after a prep kid for one of the safety spots. The other will probably go to a lesser known kid who the staff is waiting to see senior tape on.

Lockley is supposed to come in as a safety. They think Mayes could play safety. Gray is a probable at safety, if he gets into school. And there are still 3-4 known safety targets out there, probably spot for 1-2 more DBs. Seems like they are getting versatile athletes who might play safety, and they probably figure that at least one guy will actually become a safety.

I read they scraped the Lockley to safety talk and they're going with lb or te. Mayes idk if he is a guy that really wants to hit so im not sure. Gray I would love at safety

Staff said lockley is coming in as a TE. Lockley is playing WR/TE this year at prep school to prepare for Miami.

Mayes is not a safety & Gray has multiple things looming like I mentioned earlier.

Bush, Carter and Jenkins are core.

I think Howard could eventually move over to S (similar to Antrel Rolle) once we get CB in better order. Burns could play S in a pinch. We are in great shape in the secondary.
