Anyone else unimpressed with the Clemson offense?

am I crazy for thinking USCe may beat Clemson this year?

it's been years since they have, and USCe is at least decent this year (beat NC state)

clemson doesn't seem like they can score at will on people anymore, if it's close Clemson may drop that game

They will beat USCe just like they beat Auburn imo.

I think we matchup well against Clemson and can win a game 24-17 ish. But you all are really down playing the W column for them. They have just as many as us for a reason.

If you’re worried about cold weather then Pitt should be a treat. Suppose to get 6 inches of snow & it’s in the 20’s up here. I’m scared ****less of that game.

I'd like to believe that this team isn't going to let cold weather be an issue the way some of our past weak, soft teams did. I also believe that it's "easier" for a warm weather team to deal with cold weather than it is for a cold weather team to deal with a game in Miami. Also kinda like the idea of our running game in the snow, if that's what it comes down to.

we have to show up at the game! will be overwhelmingly clemson fans. we must support the team!

I can't even think about this right now. I'm still trying to recover from that NFL level Notre Dame run game that was going to gut us for 400 yds on the ground. An entire o-line of 1st rounders that were ready to maul along with a Heisman candidate RB. My Gawd!!

So yeahhhhh, be more impressed with our D than any hype of any future offenses that we might face.

LOL @ ESPN's FPI. Do you folks never learn? That stupid metric also gave us a 35% chance to beat Notre Dame this past week.

I worry about their backs...they are fast and they are sudden. We will need to be sound in our run fits to bottle them up consistently. If we can force them into being one dimensional I like our chances with our secondary.

Having said that - amazing how the defensive unit we all thought would be our Achilles heel (db's) earlier in the year has undoubtedly become a strength. What a coaching job by our staff.

Their quarterback is dynamic in the run game but not a threat to beat you downfield throwing the ball. Their receivers are pretty pedestrian also. Stop the run, stop Clemson.

Amen, brother.

Good analysis. I worry we get too hyped up in our success to actually evaluate upcoming teams without Canes glasses on-- but I think you're right. Kelly has shown to not be Watson, and has been banged up for a while, if we can focus on making them beat us in the air, our DBs win it for us (again). Clemson has a lot more speed than ND though, so it will be a fun battle.

Clemson's offense does not worry me too much but they are a very solid team. Bryant is a heady kid who seems to know to how to run RPO/read zone pretty welll. They have good RBs in Etienne and Feaster and Cain and McCloud are tough on the outside. that said, FSU held them to 17 pts at home with 3 mins left in the game.

Renfrow, Etienne, Feaster, or McCloud vs our LBs in the passing is something that worries me. Even Bandy vs. Renfrow. Bandy is good but Renfrow is crafty and a chain mover

it sucks a fat one that clemson gets to play a cupcake this weekend.

they are practicing for miami this week book it.

so they are getting an extra week to prepare for the ACC championship than we do.

best practice is live game. I would rather play competitive team like UVA and keep team focused and getting hit and challenged late in the season rather than going up against a cupcake and then asked to turn it back on when USCe and Miami roll into town

USCe is better than Virginia ...

Clemdone plays The Citadel this week, that's the cupcake they're talking about.

Remember when everyone worked themselves into a frenzy and said we were going to pound FSU because they didn't look all that impressive? Remember when some of us said that wouldn't be the case and it'd be a dogfight to the end?

Don't do it again with Clem. They are a different beast gents.

Got ya, my bad.

Great team that has won a national championship and has great coaching. With that said, we have an elite defense, with a team of studs that don't know how to lose, and also great coaching.

Will it be easy? No. Will it be a dogfight? Yes. Will we win? Yes.

The spread opened at -5 Clemson. ESPN FPI is giving us a 30% shot to beat them

Their only threat to score is on the ground.

Shut down the qb runs and the running game and I think we beat the **** out of them too if we play like we did vs ND.

Only disadvantage I see is going to be the cold weather.

2 more games bro!

2 more!

I'm worried about UVA this week, then Pitt next week. As far as Clemson goes, it'll be how our offense matches up with Clemson's defense, which is still pretty **** good. One week at a time, fellas.

Just remind the players 58-0 and they'll add Clemson to that revenge hit list
