Destroy Mark Richt??

Just said Richt failed UGA because he offered Cam Newton as a tight end.

Then followed that miss by being late to offer Deshaun Watson.

Both players are within 2 hours of UGA, and were the number 2 ranked kids in Georgia.

What did Urban/Mullen and Dabo/Chad see that Richt didn't/couldn't ...

Gotta keep your studs home, right???

Not sure recruiting is Richt's problem. In fact, his team is usually loaded every year. He doesn't win big games.
 
Urban kicked Newton off the team. He rarely even acknowledged that they even have a problem despite 30 something arrests or whatever it was.

Can't pull everyone. Hindsight is 20/20 a lot in recruiting.

Richt problem is he runs a country club atmosphere. He develops his guys into men and for the most part they do okay at staying out of trouble.

But he is not cut throat enough.
 
Richt is a very solid coach. You can dissect any coach's history and spotlight failures. Dude has been a catch or tackle away from the national championship game several years.

You need a QB to win in college unless you're Nick Saban. Richt let two Heisman QBs leave. Same reason Mack Brown failed at Texas.

QB play is what separates "good" teams from "championship" teams.

Mack Brown could of have Johnny Manziel, RG3, and Jameis Winston.

Instead he got David Ash, and Jerrod Heard....
 
Do you realize that Richt has won 49 games in the last 5 years? It takes us 7 years to win that many.

deshaun watson was committed to UGA. He flipped to Clemson. Newton did not fit in the offense they ran, people just bash people for whatever they believe is true.

Dumb thread is dumb. Richt if nothing else, is an excellent recruiter. He had Aaron Murray for 4 years, so he wasn't really lacking at QB. He had the #1 QB in the nation, Jacob Eason out of Washington, committed to UGA for next year before he was fired. He pulled Gurley from NC, Michel from our backyard, Chubb. You can say his teams don't win the big one, but recruiting? Sorry.
