Wow, this is kind of a sobering thread. No disrespect to WC_Dawg who's providing some great insights and specific examples. I'm hoping we aren't all setting ourselves up for disappointment this season and beyond.
Hmm not sure why this would be sobering. I definitely don't think yall will be disappointed in the short term future. I think everyone needs to realize that this is a brand new staff, new mindset, new basically everything. So no, you aren't going to the playoffs this year. No, you likely aren't winning the ACC this year. BUT, that's not reason to be down. I can almost guarantee that y'all will win the coastal within 3 years.
I think you're speaking out of turn about our prospects this season. We have a very legitimate chance to win the costal, can still win the ACC, and going to the playoffs is not impossible, because the season hasn't even started yet. Urban Meyer and Tom Herman fielded very competitive teams after taking them over and I expect nothing less with the caliber of players, coaching staff, and division Miami is in. Truth be told, the personnel fits Richt's system much more than it ever did Golden's. Appreciate the insight but let's stop at your familiarity with Richt's tenure at UGA.
BTW, I followed and was a big fan of FSU during Richt's tenure as OC, before he was hired at UGA. Back then, his fast-break offenses were the best i'd ever seen, college or pro. It was a beauty to watch at the college level with elements of power-spread, pro style, no-huddle, and I was surprised to hear UGA took him away from what he did best! Sounds like the "peter principle" in action. He's an offensive guru and, with Kaaya saying he's already mastered the offense, the sky is the limit. All due respect but you have no idea about our roster and what's about to come out of Coral Gables. However, I thank you kindly for your responses.
