Any OC or DC’s to be considered for HC job at Miami?

Tough to say never with any question that is out of your own control. But I cant see anyway we hire someone who hasnt been a HC already.

A healthy program can afford to do something like that. We however, as has been well documented, are very unhealthy. We really need a proven head coach as our next hire. Once we have our crap together, then we can explore these other possibilities in the future.

**** no! Guy isn’t even a real OC working with a once in a lifetime talent at QB under on of the top 5 coaches of all time. There is a reason he isn’t being hired and it’s not bc he’s black so get that lazy excuse out of the way.
I would think that connection would be a recruiting bonanza. Maybe I'm naive, why wouldn't a qb want to play in his college system? Get elite qb's, get elite athletes that will want to play with them.

Ok maybe he can come be the OC for the new HC. He won’t even be considered. He’s never run an offense alone. Hiring him as a HC in college where he’s also not coached with recruiting and running a program is asking for a disaster. Oh well, now that I put those points out, he will prob be considered heavily bc this admin is lost.

Well he was an OC in college, rb coached that coached Peterson and Charles, runs one of the most electric offenses in the league. I'll concede he came into a very favorable position. I'm not clamoring for him or anything, plenty of others I would take over him. I just don't think he would be the worst hire we could make, by any stretch.

Yeah, no more learning on the job guys

At least O'Brien coached two seasons at Pedo St and then Texans experiment

Bill O'Brien is a definite consideration for me...

* 5 years as a college position coach
* 3 years as a college OC/QB coach (Duke, Georgia Tech, and Alabama)
* 2 years as an NFL position coach (Patriots)
* 1 year as an NFL OC (Patriots/Super Bowl XLVI appearance)
* 2 years as a college head coach (Penn State/15-9 record/ineligible for conference title and bowl games due to sanctions before he arrived)
* 6 years as an NFL head coach (Texans/52-48 record/4 playoff appearances/4 Division titles)

Not a perfect resume but light years beyond any of the other current assistant coach resumes we might be looking at and a quantum leap from Manuela Diaz.

The guy lost his team, owner and an entire city. Not interested one single bit.

Oh wow another HC thread. Let’s get Mandy TF out of here first, then Flake. Then we’ll go to HC candidates.
Well to be fair if we would have waited for Richt to resign before talking coaching candidates last time, there wouldn’t have been time

I have no idea where this Bieniemy HC at Miami nonsense started but it’s gotta stop

They said the same about Saban.

Some guys aren't cut out for the new NFL. Players have way more power and aren't afraid to flex it. O'Brien has been credited with building he foundation at PSU that Franklin currently enjoys.

If he doesn't atleast get a call, that should mean Mario said yes. I don't know why you wouldn't atleast interview the guy. Hes done exactly what we need our next coach to do at a P5 school (PSU).

We've sucked for 17 years, we don't have the time or luxury to experiment with coordinators or green coaches right now.

We've hired one real and experienced coach during these dark ages and he won the division and 10 games -- with an actual neurological disorder. Mark Richt was somewhat brain dead and still waltzed to 10 wins.

Hire a proven coach.

i wouldnt be against a oc that has been at a school with a winning record and proven to be consistenly good.

i am surprised kevin wilson from ohio state hasnt been hired away.

I’d definitely consider Kevin Wilson

Prior HC
Indiana put up a lot of points under him
Currently at OSU, who scores a lot, and knows how a big time program is run
