And if people choose to voice their opinions regarding this staff negatively, that's their prerogative. It doesn't make them fake fans and shouldn't lead to a ban, as you suggested earlier.

What I'm trying to convey is that Al Golden and his staff are paid handsomely to coach football and recruit players to the University. I'm challenging you're argument that CanesInsight has a negative effect on the decision of recruits, because professional College football coaches should be able to convince them otherwise.

While a coach can try to convince a recruit that the rabid, negative "fans" shouldn't matter, he can't stop a recruit from seeing them. While how much of a role it plays differs widely by recruits, for some, it DOES matter. Valentine was attacked pretty viciously by our stupid fan base as soon as he decommited while waiting to see if Golden stays. He was quite clear that those attacks DID bother him. No one is saying fans can't be critical of a coach or how a program is run, but many on this board go WAY over the top, and also attack the recruits themselves. For some recruits, that shows a fan base than more closely resembles a pack of jackals just waiting for any excuse to attack vs. a real community of fans.

Well, first of all Valentine decommited specifically because he thought Golden may leave. So much for a top-notch defensive recruit not wanting to play for Golden. Then he was attacked by idiots on twitter and on message boards, and was quite upset about it.

Who is "white knighting" anyone? Golden hasn't proven himself, but he hasn't been given the full chance to do so yet either.

You can go search for those posts if you'd like. Not worth my time to do it for you. But yes, there was more than one post saying how any recruit who would come to play for Golden or D'Onofrio would be risking their career.
