Any early news on Frank Ladson?

Kid has major wheels!! I
thought he was an elite prospect coming out of hs!!

At 6-foot-3, 207 pounds with 4.44 speed, last season, Ladson was regarded as the fastest receiver on the roster.

"Frank is definitely the fastest receiver on the team," said (Amari) Rodgers, who had reported unofficial pro day 40-yard dash times of 4.44 and 4.52, in a preseason interview. "When we were racing this summer, he beat me by a couple of yards, which I’m going to get him back. I told him that."

When we played them in 2020 he hurt us and I remember him being all alone wide open and he dropped a TD ball with not a soul around lol

The fact is he had 3 years at Clemson and caught 4,18, and 9. I hope he surprises all of us, but the likelihood is that George and X and maybe Mallory will outpace him in receptions.
Throw out the statistics. They are meaningless without context. The young man has had a lot of injuries. It's not like he was healthy and just sitting the bench.

Hopefully he's healthy, stays healthy, and is productive.

The conclusion of Fall camp should tell us what we need to know.

It's not "meaningless." It's history. More meaningless is folks speculating that he will reach the potential contemplated out of high school based on nothing other than hope or speculation or his Rivals ranking several years ago. I hope I'm wrong but it'd be wishful thinking to believe based on what we know that he's going to be a significant contributor.

Who gives a ***** about all that BS. What can he do today? That's what matters not that he caught 9 balls in 2020 or whenever it was and no context as to why!!!

Quite frankly, if it were about his stats, he wouldn't be here. So, it ain't THAT.

Likely not even a top 5 WR on team with a very mediocre receiving core. That should tell you all you need to

If Ladson could get playing time at Clemson. He should be able to get playing time and contribute at Miami.

Just have to hope the lights turn on for him. Hankerson was 6'2 with wheels and couldn't catch once.

I assume Ladson has to realize this is make it or break it time if we wants a shot at the NFL...

I watched his highlights on YouTube recently. One thing that stuck out to me was he caught the ball with his body a lot. Very few highlights of him snatching the ball.

There were a few screens thrown to him. He doesn’t get to top gear as quick as some guys, but he can move a little for his size.

As Robes said, it’s a free lotto ticket. He saw PT as a freshman at Clemson so he must’ve shown them at least something. If you take away the stars and the expectations that come with them, and treat him like the Juco kid, if you get any contribution from him it is a plus.

I just hope he can stay healthy or he'll be on the next Robert Burns bus out of here. He's been injury prone since day one. I've seen it in teammates before and there's nothing worse than seeing some guy have potential, but their body continually fails them.

Not totally related to Ladson but when does Fall Camp get underway?

Think he can be a serviceable red zone target at worst, assuming he gives the effort.

I think, JMO, that we should target him ALOT in the first 2 games to get his confidence up. Sometimes that’s what it takes to get an athlete going. If he has a good fall camp and we can get 4-5 catches for him in the first 2 games, it should help him the rest of the season.
