Still crazy to me that Miami has to beg for money like this with the amount of guys we've put in the NFL.

I'm pretty sure only The Rock, Vilma, Portis, Edge, Reed and Calais are the only guys to give back financially.
Completely wrong. beason for example is a golden cane.

Whats crazy to me is all these fans buying turnover chain T-shirt’s for 30, season tickets, away games, etc and haven’t given even 10 bucks to the IPF they ed about for years even with this amazing season.

I stand corrected. We have 7 guys who've donated.

We've got $116M worth of players in the NFL this season and we're begging for change. That's crazy to me.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong and are not an actual UM fan.

Weird, does the school give me all the money back for the degree and season tickets since I'm not actually a UM fan?

Who do I contact?

If you’re intimating that the ex-players who’ve gone on to the NFL are responsible for building the athletic amenities at the University of Miami then maybe the fans/alumni/university doesn’t deserve an elite football team.

99.999% of donations that built indoor facilities throughout the SEC, B1G and Big 12 were built with non-NFL money. In fact, Miami players have given in numbers that probably best any school in the nation. ANY! ****, Richt is responsible for 1/32nd of the IPF! Penn State is about to build an entirely new football stadium (yes, Beaver Stadium is history) and they’re not expecting the lion share from ex-NFLers. TxA&M and Baylor built new stadiums; they didn’t rely on ex-NFLers. No, my friend, to support a university, the fans and boosters have to step up. Merchandise and ticket sales alone will never get it done. You have to write a personal check.

I mentioned this in another thread, but hats off to Clemson and their IPTAY (I Pay Ten A Year) fundraising that began 80 years ago. They convinced plainsfolk who supported Clemson athletics to give $10/yr (it’s now more) because they lost a game. And they’ve been using it ever since to have some of the best facilities there are. This idea that the players are responsible is somewhat selfish from where I sit. There may be $116M of player money available, but what about the possible $10B+ of non-NFL alumni money?

Open up, big boy! Write that check. Even if it’s $1,000 (extra; I’m guessing you give already), you’ll feel better.

I don't think the IPF is being communicated to the fans,we're buying everything else

And btw where's the guy who thought and IPF was unnecessary

The difference of course between Miami and most other big time programs is the size of the university, and the amount of actual boosters we have.

Our biggest boosters seem to donate away from sports. Which is why the school had no problem turning a clear bind eye to Nevin Shapiro's massive red flags. Who else is writing big checks to the athletic department?

Side note, had no idea the Prime Minister of Iceland was a Miami alum.

I write my check as often as I can. They've taken lots and lots of my money.

And I meant Canes are making $116M this season, ProCanes have made over a billion dollars in the NFL.

My point if you had a brain was you don’t have any idea of all who have donated, only the few public for press and promotion.

If they want to raise some cash quick, they can offer a lifesize replica of the turnover chain for a good donation. Turnover Chain is the hottest thing in sports, and UM might as well us it every way they can. :o)

Had they only known the turnover chain was going to be so big they could have licensed it, but I don’t think Miami has any legal claim now.

Best post of the day ... thanks for the humor.

Do you guys think with a ACC appearance and possible CFP that the funds should be enough to cover the 1.3 million we’re short. Or will there still be a need to solicit donations.

They should set up "donating kiosks" at games where drunk fans can donate to

Or give folks the ability to text in donations lol
