Any body else worried about too much chatter ?

I can smell the estrogen seeping from this post, and it stinks
 
I’ll be honest.
At first I didn’t like the improvisation by Ward and the crossbody throws. But rewatched a lot of games this past weekend and no drive even when scripted is perfect.
There are a lot of plays that just don’t go as planned. And almost all qb’s on every drive have to get out of the pocket.


But for the most part we focused on his improvisation because they are impressive. Most QB’s improvise and throw it away, make an incompletion, slide for a few yards or get sacked.
But his command of the offense was even more impressive and the plays where he didn’t roll
out and made completions were also outstanding.

We deserve to be proud and be positive. But undefeated is rare for a reason.
The 2001 team almost lost to BC and were in a dog fight with VT.

But the 2001 team didn’t have Ward. And as much a we love Dorsey, it’s just a different level of qb talent.
On the flip side, this isn’t the 2001 team.

Don’t see a reason why going to the acc championship should not only be the goal; it should be the bare minimum considering what we’ve seen from the conference so far.

1) uf and fsu are NOT good Football teams.
2) GT and BC are both tough and well-coached teams, but not great. BC is BC: good size on their lines, very physical with a good QB. They are the sort of team that can give you problems if your team doesn't show up to play.
3) We are very good. Good enough to beat everyone on our schedule and, talent-wise, good enough to play with any top 10 team. However, we need to stay relatively healthy, which is true for all teams.
4) Another wildcard factor is the ACC schedule....not the actual teams, but the officiating. We can't afford to play bad games, especially against the Carolina teams because the officials will stick it to us. Albeit, they were fair last week vs the Gators.
5) Players need to stay focused and try to avoid the "greatest team...yada...yada" nonsense, which can be tough in Miami. So far it seems as if we have solid maturity and leadership in this regard with our guys, but we shall see. This city has alot of agents and hanger-ons and grifters to distract young men.
 
I'm not concerned with what fans think, I'm concerned with how the players handle it. Hopefully they can look at this past weekend and think that's just a start. We can keep working and have a special year. Keep the egos in check, stay healthy, and roll over teams.

Will you be any less devastated by a loss if you take a week or two to enjoy the beatdown we handed the gator and the implosion that FSU did to themselves? NO? Then enjoy our undefeated season so far.

Both run these weird spread scheme with exotic runs that force eye discipline and good schemeing. FSU has neither. They got killed against the same QB counter play twice in a row and the second time, the gain was bigger.

And the BC QB isn't that good. 10/16 for 106 is pure game management and nothing more.

We're our biggest enemy. If we play disciplined football, not a single team on the schedule beats us.

To add to your points. FSU can not set the ******* edge to save their lives. I do think bc and gt are probably better than most give credit for preseason. But I’ve seen enough from our dline this game and last year to know they’re discipline to not fall for all the eye candy.

I mean uf tried doing it because mertz can’t throw pass 15 yards and looked how that turned out for them.

Like you said just worry about us and the rest will take care of itself.

As the week wears on the pontiffs are playing it both ways; How impressive the Canes were and what a train wreck Gators and Noles are given the talent they have (Like we have done in the past). But they were both at home and we were in The Swamp, even if it isn't what it used to be.

GT and BC both have good Qs, good OLs and a running game. That's the type team that always worries me.
 
I'm telling you now, we should win out or we'll be left out of the playoffs with just 1 loss

When's the last time we utterly dominated a team with comparable talent on both sides from start to finish? 2017 Notre Dame? We've routinely played down to inferior talent for the better part of 2 decades. Yeah it was just one game but it was pretty apparent on Saturday that this team is different.

All good teams have to deal with the outside noise. Success comes with more expectations, more attention, and more scrutiny. If we are going to get back to the top of College Football, the team has to learn to deal with it and stay focused.

This is the soft mentality we have to get rid of man. We have been regular to bad for almost to decades. But now we have a sign of hope so we need to go with the flow until we see otherwise. Enjoy the **** ride. GO CANES
