Miami Central High School athlete Anthony Jones landed a recent offer from Louisville and says "I like the coaches there, they know how to talk to the kids, I like their program and they're a passing team."
But he says it's too little, too late from the Cardinals and that he's focused in on just FIU, where he's committed, and Miami.
"Louisville, I can't visit there because I'm enrolling early," Jones said, adding that UM and FIU are "both about even" atop his list.
Jones says he calls Cane coaches "all the time" and last spoke with them on Thursday.
He says he spoke with Al Golden, James Coley and Hurlie Brown that day, and that they reiterated they want him at Miami despite Da'Vante Phillips, who lives with him, picking FSU.
While it is unclear if UM will indeed make room for Jones, he certainly thinks he has a committable offer.
"They said they still want me there, that I can do special things at the U," Jones said. "They say they need me at the U, that I can do big things, get it back to how they used to be. Coach Golden said they want me at running back and returner."
Jones says he expects to arrive at a decision sometime Sunday and that "I'm just talking things over with my family, my mom."
He adds "I'm not nervous, but it'll be a tough decision."
