2026 Anthony "Tank" Jones 5* DE from Mobile, AL Commits to Oregon

Bain definitely lost quite a bit of body fat this offseason. Hopefully it translates on field. If so he will be #3 for sure
I agree was just pointing out that he took a step back as a sophomore (for whatever reasons) so that’s not a good example for development

Mauigoa has steadily gotten better every year on the other hand

The development questions are fair. Got a good feeling about Bain this year. But no doubt we need to hit big on a few other hs guys to change the narrative long term. Shorter term I got my eye on Scott & Lyle with high draft upside. Longer term guys like Lowe, Toney, Lucas, Poyser, O'Connor, Moore, Wiley, and Schott have that major NFL upside. Succeed with most of those names and things will change.

OJ has draft upside for sure. Good size and coverage ability and will most likely end up a 3 year starter

True, forgot to include him. But that comprehensive list are the ones who have the traits NFL evaluators look for the most. Plenty of other guys still could be drafted I didn't mention (lofton, jones, blount, etc) but those I mentioned are the ones I really like the most to be the ones who change things for us.

IF HE IS A 3 YEAR STARTER MEANS HE LEFT EARLY...HE WOULD BE A 4 YEAR STARTER HERE WHICH DOESNT HAPPENMUCH IF HE KEEPS THE TRAJECTORY HE WOULD END UP A DAY 2 LEVEL PICK

That’s what I meant. I counted him as a starter last year. So starter this year. One more year and he’s gone with Lucas. Potentially 2 top 3 round dbs.

The elder Jones says his son is locked in with Oregon despite keeping dialogue with other programs. He visited Miami this past Sunday night for the Hurricanes win over Notre Dame.

“Oh man that would take a lot,” the elder Jones said of change in his son’s recruitment. “As of right now everything is going it’s course.”

Oregon began making a move for Jones back in the spring.

“It’s a great school,” the young Jones has said. “I feel like Coach Lanning and Coach Tosh Lupoi do a good job. Especially Coach Lanning. I feel like edge rushers eat there. The NFL scheme I feel would be good.”

Miami is doing what they can to give Jones and his family a lot to think about.

“They’re going in the right direction,” the elder Jones said. Plans to visit for the game started picking up a few days before.

“They’ve always been around,” his dad said. “Good relationship. Jason Taylor is a good guy. The relationship just in case. Still got till December.”

That’s all this boils down to, lol. We are going to drop it for one of these big ticket DL. Jones, Wilson, Johnson, etc someone will take it. It has happened every cycle for the past few seasons, feel strongly it will happen again. JMO

Either he's bag hunting from Miami or the Miami interest is real and he's trying to downplay it not to alarm the Oregon folks.
