If we finish 8-4 then make it all about winning the bowl game. Win and he gets to stay. Lose a third straight bowl game and maybe not.

Yep. Been taking this approach all season. Not leaning one way or the other just one game at a time and let the chips fall wherever they fall
 
IMO, 8-4 w/o the ACC CG is the worst case scenario we could get. 7-5 and he’s gone. 8-4 w/ ACC CG... maybe winning it on 12/4 gives Miami/Manny like 10 days to sell it on recruits. 8-4 no ACC CG leaves us in a bad place where Miami might mess around and keep him.

ACC Coastal or not, there is simply no way Manny is gone if we win out. Now if we drop one or two, he's in serious trouble. Especially if we look undisciplined and ugly, which would probably be the only way we'd lose any of our remaining games.

Honestly, and again this maybe the jaded side, but I can’t see Diaz winning out, even if we don’t win the ACC Coastal or a bowl game. Going 8-5 after a 2-4 start? I can see him being retained, honestly.

Winning out would make him 8-4 after an 8-3 season last year? Don’t see a lot of coaches who go 16-7 in 2 years get fired at the end of the second one. Certainly not at a place like Miami where half the school doesn’t even know who Manny Diaz is.

That would truly be the worst case scenario, though. Well, I guess maybe him going 2-2 and still keeping his job would be worse. But basically him saving his job while still winning nothing of even remote substance would be quite fitting for the torture we’ve been subjected to for the majority of my adult life.

I can’t see him winning out either. 7-5 at best and I think he’s gone

Depends on the loss, really. Does a 49-48 loss to anyone not named FSU carry equal weight as a 52-0 loss to FSU? That's why I said a loss or two, because two ends it for sure. A close loss because the officials call an incomplete pass a TD as time expires... maybe not. It just all depends.

I'm actually hoping now that we win out. Not because I want to keep Manny around, but because I want these kids to win every game.

I got us barely beating a bad GT team,
Losing to FSU 😢
Beating dreadful Duke,
Then winning against a downtrodden VT.

I think that FSU game is gonna hurt.

I got us rolling GT.

The FSU game still concerns me, but I think we'll be fine. Something about the Travis V/S TVD thing. I just think Travis makes more mistakes, and maybe by a wide margin.

I do hope Manny lets TVD know it's a huge rivalry game and those can be tough. Might not be the week for BB material. Back in the day we let the other team talk leading up to the game, then did our talking during the game. I think this is the attitude to have going into FSU week.
