Another head shaker

A HOF HC is corch?? That sure makes a lot of sense.

Mack Brown may be in the conversation as one of the coaches who did the least in the 21st century relative to the resources and talent he had access to (sadly Richt is in the convo as well). Unlimited money and the ability to cherry pick any recruit in the country and he has one ring to show for it over a 15 year span? That's not good.

So then how do you explain the tenures of the HCs that preceded & came after him? He's one of the most successful HCs in UT & UNC history, & has one of the highest winning % ever in CFB.

For some reason, you're under the false impression that resources & recruiting base guarantees you a NC. It does not. It only maximizes your chances of winning one.

You reassign your DC & take over the D, putting it squarely on your shoulders. You give up 45 & you have the nerve to say this!!!??? Unbelievable!

Yes it does maximize it chances. But the University of Texas, up until 2 years ago, essentially lapped every other program in the country in terms of profitability for the better part of the last three plus decades. If you put Saban or Meyer there, they likely have six or seven national championships at the least.

Mack Brown may not have been a corch there but he is a massive, massive underachiever. The fact that he's won a championship is irrelevant. Les Miles has won a championship too and I don't think many people would put him in the conversation of good HCs nowadays.

Corches lose games they shouldn't. UNC shouldnt get beaten by FSU twice. Any coach that loses to the FSU teams of the last two years is suspect. Unless you have a good explanation for UNC losing the FSU twice, Brown is proving to be a corch at UNC (similarly Cristobal losing to a 1 win Oregon State team put him on corch watch as well)

Mack has never beaten FSU.

I think every HC has questionable losses on his resume, because winning on the road in CFB is literally one of the hardest things to do. We're dealing with 18-22 yr old kids, who struggle to maintain the same level of focus & consistency wk to wk. Its part of the beast, and comes with the territory.

If you have to compare Mack to Saban & Meyer, then that says more about him than it does them. But even Meyer has questionable losses on his resume. Do you remember a few yrs ago, when they got blown out to a 5-win Purdue team while @ OSU?

Bruh, they lost to FSU two seasons in a row. FSU lost to a FCS school this season. If you are going to write it off as "it's hard to motivate kids" and "winning on the road is hard" , then I assume you also think this game shouldn't factor into whether to retain or fire Diaz. Why shouldn't Diaz be able to lean on that excuse for all his road losses? This was a close road loss to a team that has equal talent, according to 247. So that should be a mitigating factor, right? And MSU is #10 now, so they are a much better team and it's not fair to hold that loss against Diaz either. So if you don't count the losses against more talented teams than Miami, then Miamis record is really 2-1. What's all the fuss about then.
