And So It Begins- eSECpn Can't Control Themselves

I don't see why people are acting like this is weird. Those those two teams have been stomping people and they're undefeated. Lots of teams are going to lose to teams you don't expect them to. The season is getting long, everybody nicked up, your mind is tired. It's getting cold, there is film on everybody. Watch out

People think it's weird because:

1. They'll play each other on a neutral field for the SEC Title
2. The SEC is a dumpster fire of a conference, at best they're 4th best in the power 5
3. There will be teams with better resumes than the loser of the game
4. ESPN overrates the SEC for financial gain and is gaslighting already to try and make it happen

Herbstreit's first comment was " if it's close then they should put bama and UGA in" .. no two teams that play eachother for the conference should get in to the playoff, they should be able to disqualify one.

Of course; I get negged to high heaven by Suckeyestreit's CIS Bromance crew when I tell them that the O$Uck fans hating their Kirky and forcing him to leave to live $EC country was total propaganda...Evidence is right here folks.

In other news, all a (former O$Uck) athlete at my work wanted to talk about was how the fix was in to get two SEC teams in the CFP...It's not just us Miami lunatics seeing it

If UGA beats Bama in SECCG there is a less than 1% chance that Bama DOESN'T get in.

Until they go to an 8 team playoff this will be the setup every year ("should SEC get 2?")

the most comical part of the narrative is the convenient way, THIS YEAR, that losses don't really matter

When we beat Nitre Dame by more than one point, what will their excuse be for keeping Georgia ahead of us? No way a one loss Georgia team gets in over an undefeated Miami team. Then again, they have Clemson ahead of us even though we beat the team that beat them.

We win out and we jump all the one loss teams. Right now we don't have a very solid body of work, but if we win out that all changes.

if UGA beats bama in Sec (every seems to give it to bama already lol) then Bama shouldnt get in if there are other 1 loss teams. they have a completely cupcake schedule. i actually have great respect for what saban has done but that schedule is total weak sauce.

I agree with this. Bama's schedule is weak AF. Ranked 70th I think. Supposing they get there both undefeated, UGA will get first crack at Auburn so they may not even be ranked by the Iron Bowl. Alabama will have zero quality wins that have stood the test of time. No way Bama is in under that scenario. Bama has to beat UGA. It has to be close. And a little bad call/controversial replay wouldn't hurt. But no way in **** would I rule it out.

I wonder how the ESPN narrative will fit if Bama flat out dominates UGA in the SEC title game. The competition that UGA has faced sans Notre Dame has been pretty mediocre. Kudos to them for at least blowing out their competition.

Espn will find a way to get two sec teams in.

Good thing ESPN doesn’t decide who makes the playoffs.

All these folks run the same circles, my man. They are all confined in their little echo chamber with ESPN deciding who gets to be on national tv and who doesn't. Their tentacles run deeper than anyone wants to admit.

doing the math, there is a possibility that we finish as low as 6th behind 5 one loss teams even if we win out.

Uga wins out
Bama loses only to Uga
Ohio state wins out knocking Wisconsin out
Oklahoma wins out knocking TCU and Ok St out
Penn St wins out
Miami wins out

This is the worst case scenario and would involve a ton of anti-UM bias.

I wouldn't care honestly. Finishing 12-0 and ACC champs, likely ranked top 3 or 4 by the real polls, and playing a big time bcs bowl against a team like Penn State would be far beyond anything I could have ever dreamed with our personnel in year 2 of the rebuilding.

We will not be left out if we are undefeated. Can't happen. It means we beat Notre Dame and Clemson. No one else would have that on their resume.

Kind of early to worry about the playoffs...lets just keep winning and it will take care of itself...one loss and we are done but still get a good bowl game...

If UGA's only loss is to Bama and it's by a small margin then they are both in; however, UGA can't pass the ball so this scenario won't play out.

I honestly don't get why people get so bent about this stuff in the middle of the season. Teams are going to lose. There's no chance that 3 teams go undefeated and about a 10% chance that 2 do it so what's the worry here? If you're in a P5 conference and you go undefeated you'll be in. We have always know we wouldn't make it with a loss this year so it makes no difference to us which 1 loss team people think is best.

As for bama/Georgia, you can try to make this about espn all you want, but everybody with a vote in any of the polls thinks those are the two best teams. That's one **** of a conspiracy being perpetrated by a ton of people who have no worldly reason to push the sec.

If Bama runs the table and loses to Georgia in the SEC Title Game, they will have the worst SOS of any playoff contender other than maybe Wisconsin.

Bama would have a better chance to get in as a one loss team if they lost to LSU or Miss State. Running the table and losing to Georgia knocks them out if there are 3 other undefeated or 1 loss teams.

Didnt an undefeated TCU get left out to make way for a 1 loss OSU who didn't even win their own conference?

We can do ourselves a big favor and the country a big favor by knocking off ND so that UGAs best win(if they lose to Bama) is a 2 lose ND squad

They had 1 loss, but the committee dropped them from #3 to #6 in the last poll. Had they been undefeated I don't think the committee could have justified dropping them.

It's fun **** to talk about Sunday when the rankings come out thru Tuesday when the Committee announces. Past that, It's on to next week. We have Liberty City El interview vids, and HurricaneVision film reviews. Rankings chatter is a time filler.

That's absurd. There is not any way possible that an undefeated P5 team that wins his conference championship ever gets left out in place of a 1 loss team. Not happening.
